“The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may observe all the words of this law.Deuteronomy 29:29

Have you ever wondered about the Spiritual world where God, angels, and demons reside?

Our fortunes and how our lives play out are dependent on what happens in the spiritual world. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin aptly observed that “We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.”

God has been revealing the secrets of the Spiritual world to us. Initially, it was through what we call the mystic, which is a term we loosely use for all the ethereal mysteries that we do not yet comprehend.

God then revealed the “secret things” to us through science, with the evolutionary discovery of Quantum Physics by Albert Einstein.

I have attempted to bring some of the benefits of our better understanding in some of my earlier articles (provided in the Additional Resources at the end of this article).

However, to glimpse and comprehend the Spiritual world, a basic understanding of Quantum Physics is necessary. With the secret things revealed by God, we can then begin to understand ourselves better and learn to regain control of our lives and our future.

If you want to skip the science and go right to the practical aspects of improving your lives, you can go to the end of this article and browse through the “Additional Resources”.

If you are hungry for God’s secrets, let’s take a journey together into the Quantum field.

Living in The Quantum World

E=mc2

It’s the world’s most famous equation, which says that “Energy equals mass times the speed of light squared.”

But what does it really mean?

On the most basic level, the equation says that energy and mass (matter) are interchangeable; they are different forms of the same thing.

Technology has progressed by leaps and bounds since Albert Einstein’s time. Armed with the Theory of Relativity and the new advances in technology, scientists came to discover the quantum universe, which happened when they began studying the sub-atomic world.

Researchers now understand that atoms are the building blocks of everything in the physical universe.

Each atom is made up of a positively charged nucleus surrounded by a large field containing one or more negatively charged electrons. This field is so large in comparison with the minuscule electrons that it appears to be a virtual “empty” space.

Before we go deeper into the science of quantum physics, let’s pause for a moment to understand what our reality really is.

What is Reality

6 blind persons who were asked to describe an elephant gave different answers depending on which part of the elephant they could feel with their hands.

What you observed as reality similarly depends on what you can experience with your limited senses.

For example, it’s a known scientific fact that our eyes are only able to see a very narrow range of the electromagnetic spectrum called visible light.

Typically, the human eye can detect wavelengths from 380 to 700 nanometers. Do you know what percentage of the electromagnetic spectrum that represents?

The wavelengths of electromagnetic waves span gamma rays with wavelengths of 1 pM (picometer, 1×10−12 m, or one trillionth (1/1000000000000) of a meter, to ELF (Extremely Low Frequency) waves with wavelengths of 100 million meters. (Electromagnetic spectrum — Wikipedia).

To cut to the chase, the answer is practically zero!

There are energies and frequencies our senses cannot pick up without the aid of modern technology. For example, you need a radio to capture the sound waves in the air. You need a television set to capture the images and sounds for your viewing. You need a Geiger Counter to alert you to the presence of radioactivity.

Coming back to our atoms, we know that atoms are the building blocks of all the matter in our physical universe. By extrapolation, the matter is therefore an infinitesimally small component in relation to the immense space of nothing physical.

Is matter then made of nothingness?

Not according to Einstein’s equation. It’s just that we can’t sense what’s in the quantum field.

What is there in reality?

We know from Einstein’s equation that there is a dual nature in that matter is interchangeable with energy. This phenomenon has been observed at the sub-atomic level by scientists.

The electrons move around in the vast “empty” field in a completely unpredictable manner. They appear at a place in one moment and then disappear in the next, and it’s impossible to predict where and when the electrons will appear. That’s because, as the scientists eventually realized, the electrons exist simultaneously in an infinite number of possibilities or probabilities.

It is only when an observer focuses his or her attention and looks for the electron that the invisible field of energy and information collapses into a particle we know as the electron. That is called collapsing the wave function, which is a quantum event. As soon as the observer looks away and takes his or her mind off the subatomic matter, the electron disappears back into energy.

Mind Over Matter, or Matter Over Mind

Your brain is made up of billions of neurons firing off through the synapses as they are called into play.

Current scientific estimates are that some 95 percent of brain activity is unconscious. These include habits and patterns, automatic body function, creativity, emotions, personality, beliefs and values, cognitive biases, and long-term memory. Moreover, up to 40 percent of behavior is habitual, taking anywhere from 15 to over 250 days to form a new habit.

While our environment can shape our mind, the converse is also true for those who understood the relationship between mind and matter. Mind and matter are therefore connected in the quantum field.

Our mind can affect matter, with ample scientific experiments backing it. One such experiment involved the imprinting of hatching chicks to the first moving object they see.

In that experiment, a robot with an equal probability of turning left or right was first observed in an enclosure with an empty cage next to it. The results of the robot’s movement are traced below:-

In the second half of the experiment, young chicks which have imprinted on the robot were placed in the cage. The robot was then put into the enclosure as before, with the following interesting result:

Somehow, the minds of the young chicks were able to draw their “mother” to them and the robot ended up moving in the half of the room closest to the cage.

If the minds of small young chicks are that powerful, imagine what the magnificently created human brains would be able to do. It’s an accepted scientific fact that humans have the most sophisticated and advanced brains among the known living creatures on earth.

I have specifically written an article earlier on the power of the mind for healing:- Daily Digest- Healing Series A 9/12: Understanding The Hidden Power of Your Mind For Healing.

However, the mind is capable of much more than that.

The Science And The Secret Behind Effective Prayers

Quantum Physics suggests that there is a field of endless possibilities that, upon your mind fixing on a possibility, you will collapse this infinite spectrum down to a specific outcome.

We look at a simpler example to understand the concept better. We know from Quantum Physics that scientists as observers observed an electron into form. It follows that just as we as subjective consciousness are able to observe an electron into form, there’s an objective universal consciousness that is constantly observing all of us and our three-dimensional reality into order and form as well.

This objective universal consciousness whom we Christians call God has already shared with us in Genesis 1:27 that:-

So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.

God has given us the power to create our reality.

Why are so many of us then locked into miseries that we don’t seem to be able to extricate ourselves from?

The short answer is that our minds have been preprogrammed by years of habitual thinking. For example, as an experienced driver, your driving skills have been programmed into your subconscious mind. You don’t need to think how-to on the engine, adjust the mirrors, drive off from a parking lot, make all the turns and control the speed of the vehicle.

We are unfortunately stressed creatures living in stressful situations in our modern world with our minds hard-wired to deal with stress. For example, if you had a traumatic experience of being played out by someone you loved or a business partner you trusted, that memory is likely to stay with you throughout your life. That trauma has imprinted into your subconscious mind and caused you to be negative as you constantly recall those bad experiences.

According to studies conducted by the National Science Foundation, we have around 12,000–50,000 thoughts daily. Research confirmed that around 80% of our thoughts are negativeOur minds are creating our own misery as what we focused on, we create.

Conversely, if we can change our habitual thoughts from negative to positive, we can create a better reality for ourselves.

There are many ways to do this and different people are attracted to different techniques. For your convenience, the introduction to some of these techniques is provided in the “Additional Resources” at the end of this article.

Coming back to our subject of prayers, we next look at how to unleash the power of prayers.

The Secret of Effective Prayers

According to Psychology Today,

“Prayer, like meditation, influences our state of mind, which, in turn, influences our “state of the body.” It reduces the experience of anxiety, elevates a depressed mood, lowers blood pressure, stabilizes sleep patterns, and impacts autonomic functions like digestion and breathing. Further, in influencing our state of body-mind, prayer and meditation also influence our thinking. This prompts a shift in the habits of the mind, and subsequently, patterns of behavior. These changes, in turn, and over time, induce changes in the brain, further influencing our subjective and objective experience of the world and how we participate in it.”

According to neuroscientist Richard Davidson, it is possible to “sculpt the brain” as one would sculpt muscles. The technical term is Neuroplasticity which is the ability of the brain to keep changing over one’s lifetime.

Studies have shown that intense prayer can play a big role in this process and that the ACT of praying has several benefits that have positive effects on both the person who is praying and the recipient of the prayers.

Practitioners of meditation have confirmed with scientific evidence that effective meditation involves the coherence of the heart and mind. In biblical terms, we need to Pray with Faith where our intention is matched by the strength of our emotions.

Prayers will not be effective if what you are praying with your mind does not correspond with what you are actually feeling, eg. when you doubt your prayers will be answered because of your habitual feelings of being a victim of circumstances.

As I study and explore scientific methods and spiritual methods of changing our lives for the better, I cannot help but be amazed at how both science and spirituality are converging on the “secret things” God wants to reveal to us.

Being mindful not to make this article excessively long, I leave much of my prayer resources in the “Additional Resources” for you to explore and choose from at your leisure.

Yes, You Matter

Okay, so you want acknowledgement. That’s fine. But no one can tell you how you should feel, especially you.

Jennifer Tapias Derch

Everyone wants to feel validated. Who doesn’t want to be seen and heard? Yet, much of the time, you may well feel just the opposite—you may feel judged, denied, or completely ignored. You want to matter. Of course, validation does not mean that every person will agree with what you have to say; it just means that you are being acknowledged and you are accepted, regardless of your point of view. Looking for validation can certainly go too far, perhaps in the form of approval-seeking or people-pleasing. However, it all starts with self-validation. To accept yourself, you cannot push feelings away or negate yourself. You are who you are. And that is OK.

Validation Starts With You

Accept your internal experience and build your identity.

By Karyn Hall, Ph.D.

Validation is the expression of honest understanding. It’s the acknowledgment of others, of their thoughts, feelings, and actions. And to do a better job of validation, you must start with yourself. Such self-validation is understanding your internal experience and your actions.

This doesn’t mean that whatever you think or feel is justified. There are many times when you will have thoughts that surprise you, that don’t reflect your values or fit what you know to be true. Validation doesn’t mean approval, it’s about understanding. If you fight your thoughts and feelings, or judge yourself for having them, then you may well become emotionally distressed. You’ll also fail to learn about yourself.

Validating your thoughts and emotions will help you stay calm and manage yourself more effectively. Validating yourself will help you accept yourself, which will lead you to a stronger identity and better skills at regulating intense emotions.

Self-validation also helps you find wisdom. If you accept that you are feeling envy and you understand the reason, there is an opportunity to learn from your experience. What is it that you envy? What does it mean for you?

Psychologist Marsha Linehan, the creator of dialectical behavior therapy and a professor emeritus at the University of Washington in Seattle, defined six levels of validation. The steps below are based on her ideas.

Be Here Now

Mindfulness and self-validation go hand in hand. Be mindful of your emotions without pushing them away; this means grounding yourself and not dissociating, daydreaming, suppressing, or numbing your emotions. Being present means listening to yourself, even if feeling the pain of sadness, hurt, and fear is challenging.

Avoiding emotions can result in negative consequences, while accepting emotions allows them to pass, and allows you to build resilience. Being present validates that you matter, that you have the strength to feel, that you can experience the physical sensations that are part of your emotional terrain.

Engage in Honest Reflection

Accurate reflection means acknowledging your internal state and labeling it accurately. When you observe and describe your interior experience accurately, you don’t make interpretations—you stick to the facts. What emotions are you experiencing? What triggered the thoughts and emotions you are having? Where do you feel sensations in your body and what actions do you want to take? Labeling your experience with accurate reflection can help you regulate your emotions.

This thought, I’m a loser, and no one wants to spend time with me, does not state the observable facts of your experience. Instead, observe and describe your experience: I feel angry and disappointed. It started yesterday when my friend canceled lunch again. I sense tightness in my stomach, so maybe there is fear as well.

Guess Your Emotions

Sometimes you won’t be sure what you are feeling or thinking. In these situations, ask yourself: Am I feeling _____? If someone else were in this situation, they would probably feel ____.

You might also guess your emotions by looking at the actions you want to take. If you want to hide, perhaps you are feeling shame. Maybe you are thinking shameful thoughts. Where are your physical sensations? Fear, for example, is often felt in the throat. Guessing your emotions and thoughts based on the information you have will help you learn more about yourself.

Remember the Past

Sometimes you will have thoughts and feelings that are based on events that happened in your past. Maybe you’re afraid when people argue, because past arguments scared you. You could validate yourself with this thought: It’s understandable that I am afraid of arguments because when I was young my parents hurt each other during conflict.

Normalize Your Feelings

Sometimes people who have intense emotions don’t see themselves as normal. Everyone has emotions. No one is happy all the time. It’s normal to feel painful emotions. You feel sad when you didn’t get that job you wanted, and this is commonly felt by others as well. It’s normal. Instead, self-validate: Of course I feel sad. I really wanted that job.

Be Genuine

Do not lie to yourself. Don’t pretend to be someone you aren’t. Rejecting who you are is high-level invalidation and can be damaging. An important distinction: Who you are is different from what you do. You are not your behavior. Changing some behaviors that are invalid may alleviate some suffering that you experience.
Self-validation is critical for living with intense emotions. It is part of forming relationships and thriving. Practice and more practice will help you self-validate more naturally.

Does validation on social media tell you what type of person you are?

By Martin Graff, Ph.D.

If you use social media, do you consider these statements to be accurate about you, or are you unconcerned or uninfluenced by others online?

The attention I get from social media is important to me. I consider someone to be popular based on the number of likes they get. I wish I could gain more likes online.

In a study my colleagues and I conducted, we hypothesized that personality and self-esteem affect how people use social media. We asked participants to respond to statements that showed how they appreciate being valued online.

We received responses from 332 people between the ages of 18 and 78; a third were men and two-thirds were women. Seventy percent of our responders reported posting online one to five times daily on up to 10 types of social media.

Our survey measured self-esteem and the personality characteristics of extraversion (sociable, outgoing), agreeableness (warm, sympathetic), conscientiousness (organized, disciplined), neuroticism (irritable, moody), and openness (imaginative, unconventional).

We found several ways in which types of validation in social media were related to self-esteem and personality:

Effort in Social Media:

Characterized by asking for likes or even paying to get more validation, this effort was related to low levels of agreeableness, trust, warmth, and modesty.

Taking Action:

This included deleting a post that did not receive many likes and was related to low levels of self-esteem, low conscientiousness, and low openness.

Honest Posting:

These people always presented themselves accurately online. Unconcerned with getting likes, they seemed to be more extraverted, sociable, and outgoing.

Blindness in Social Media:

Examples: Accepting friend requests from people they didn’t know or posting information inconsistent with their beliefs just to gain likes. This was related to low levels of conscientiousness, as well as impulsiveness, and being disorganized.

Positive Posting:

I always post positive things about myself. This was related to self-esteem, having confidence in one’s abilities, and low levels of neuroticism.

Finally, we found that none of the personality or self-esteem measures were related to whether receiving likes and validation improved one’s mood or self-esteem.

Don’t Feel Grateful? That’s Okay

Forced Gratitude can make you feel worse.

By Sarah Epstein

There is a lot of pressure to feel grateful for health and well-being right now. After all, so many others are in terrible pain. Gratitude can increase our level of satisfaction, help us see beyond a crisis, and train the mind to look for positives. Yet the pressure to feel grateful can turn gratitude from a source of relief into a source of self-torment. Gratitude is great, but not when it’s guilt-ridden.

What does guilty gratitude sound like?

I should feel grateful…
because others have it so much worse
because I have a roof over my head
because I don’t have cancer
because I have so much support
because I made it this far

Yet forcing gratitude during a crisis does not work. People who try to guilt themselves into a grateful state by comparing their pain to others’ may unintentionally delegitimize their feelings and worsen rather than improve their mental health. They may feel responsible for feeling grateful rather than anxious, stuck, hurt, or overwhelmed. The attempt to feel grateful becomes a way to dismiss or reject uncomfortable feelings without honoring or addressing them. Gratitude becomes the weapon of choice against the self.

Signs That You Are Misusing Gratitude

Your tone is accusatory; gratitude becomes a rebuke. You yell at yourself: Feel grateful! You feel as if you’ve failed when you struggle to find that gratitude. You probably use the word should to tell yourself how to feel.

You decide you don’t deserve to feel pain. You compare your lot to others and conclude that your situation does not warrant painful feelings. Introducing gratitude becomes an exercise in ranking pain.

You try to replace your painful feelings with forced gratitude. Gratitude becomes a way to tell yourself that you’re not entitled to your feelings.

None of this is to say that gratitude should not be cultivated as a practice—it can be life-changing when done well and particularly helpful during a crisis.

Here are rules for using gratitude when everything feels overwhelming.

Allow yourself to feel your feelings: The first rule of gratitude is to allow yourself to be in pain, even if things could be worse, even if others have it worse, even if you’ve felt worse in the past. Allow yourself to feel and move through those feelings instead of immediately throwing gratitude at them to make them go away. You cannot successfully shame yourself out of your feelings by telling yourself to be grateful. Instead, gratitude can supplement those things and perhaps gently replace them over time, though not through force.

Validate your feelings: Before you invite in gratitude, validate your own feelings. Tell yourself that your feelings are OK. Notice them, notice where you feel them in your body, and welcome them. There can be no true gratitude without validation. If you try to force gratitude on yourself before reaching this point, you may end up feeling bullied into feeling something different. It will backfire.

Make room for both difficult feelings and gratitude: Gently allow yourself to see if you feel the capacity for gratitude alongside your other difficult feelings. Perhaps it sounds like: I feel so overwhelmed. I also feel really grateful that I have support to help me through it. Or perhaps it sounds like: This is so hard. I’m glad I have the safety net to get me through this tough stretch while I figure things out.

Try again later: Maybe in a moment of overwhelming hurt, you cannot access gratitude. That’s OK. When the crisis subsides and things feel calmer, try again to access it in a more healthy way.

Gratitude is gentle, positive, and welcoming; it should not bludgeon a person or induce shame. As we work our way through this moment in time, you may notice the pressure to feel grateful for whatever blessings you have access to. As you hear those messages and perhaps try to internalize them, notice whether gratitude has become an ally or another source of pain.

Affirmation Or Validation?

Why validation may be the key to communication.

By Marisa T. Cohen, Ph.D.

When affirming something, you are offering support, or asserting something as fact. There is usually a positive connotation to this, in which one partner agrees with the other regarding their assertion. A husband affirming his wife’s belief that they need to spend more time together as a couple would be agreeing with her statement and holding it as true.

Often, I hear people using the words affirmation and validation interchangeably. Validation, unlike affirmation, does not mean that one person agrees with the other. Rather, to validate someone is to acknowledge and accept their feelings, thoughts, and beliefs. Marsha Linehan notes that validation involves the expression of understanding, legitimacy, and acceptance of another’s experience. Validation does not attempt to alter a person’s experience, but rather accepts it as is.

In one study, college students were exposed to mental math problems and then assigned conditioned responses, either validating ones (I too would feel upset if I were the one completing the task) or invalidating ones (I don’t understand why you would feel that way). The researchers found that validating responses led to better emotion regulation.

For the husband mentioned, he might instead acknowledge and validate his wife’s belief that they need to spend time together. However, it does not necessarily mean that he agrees. Instead, he may feel that spending time apart is more important for their marriage and individual identities. But he has acknowledged and heard her. In this case, validating her with: “I understand that you want us to spend more time together.”

It’s important to realize that not all discussions will reach a mutually agreed upon consensus; however, in the interest of open communication, both partners should be able to express their views.

The Need For Approval

So, we have to like everything about you?

By Robert L. Leahy, Ph.D.

A friend once told me, “No matter what you do, some people won’t like you.” That helped me let go of the need to be liked by everyone. Our concerns about approval are part of being human. We don’t want to go around being hostile, selfish, and disrespectful. Here are some simple techniques you can use to overcome the need for approval.

1. Identify the situation.

This can be the trigger for your concern about what people think. Perhaps you are thinking of making a request of someone that he change his behavior, but you immediately start feeling anxious because of your underlying thoughts and feelings.

2. What are the advantages and disadvantages of needing approval?

This is the motivational piece for you to examine your assumption that you need approval. What are the costs to you? It may make it difficult for you to be honest; it may make it hard for you to get your needs met; you may worry about what might happen; and you might let people take advantage of you.

3. What negative automatic thoughts are you having?

These can include: She will think I am unfair or mean. She won’t like me. He thinks I am obnoxious. It’s awful when someone doesn’t like me. I can’t stand arguments.

4. What do these thoughts mean to you?

You might think: If she doesn’t like me, then I am wrong. Or I am a bad person. Or you might think: People will talk about me, and I won’t have any friends. These implications may be driving the need for approval.

5. Examine the evidence and the logic of your thoughts.

Are you really a bad person, or wrong, if a person disagrees with you? Perhaps you simply have different information, interpretations, or ideas. Perhaps you are right? If you think people will be upset with you, ask yourself if you have ever disagreed with anyone who still remained a friend.

6. Use the double-standard technique.

If people disagree with you, do you always get extremely upset? Do you write them off? Try to think of yourself as a supportive friend: If your friends don’t like something you say, what advice would you give them? Would you conclude that they are bad? Why would you be more tolerant of other people than you are of yourself?

7. What would you do if they didn’t like you?

To let problems go, put life in perspective. Perhaps you are skillful and respectful in asserting yourself with someone, but now that person doesn’t like what you say. Can you still be with your partner, your family, your friends, and your co-workers? Can you engage in all the activities that you engaged in before? You can do everything you did before. If this particular person doesn’t like what you say, or dislikes you, what difference does it make?

8. How will you feel about this in the future?

We often get upset about something happening in the moment, but we fail to realize that all of our emotions are open to change. Have you had the experience that you were unhappy with an interaction—say, three months ago—but now you can’t even remember it? That’s because other experiences have taken over, you have put it in perspective, and you have let it go.

9. Normalize disapproval.

We often get upset about things that happen to everyone. Who has the approval of every person they meet? We all experience disapproval—and still survive and thrive. Why should you be the one person who has to have universal approval?

10. Practice being assertive.

If you are concerned about disapproval, go to a store and request a 50 percent discount on something you have no intention of purchasing. The clerk will look at you as if you are crazy. You might say, “I thought I could get a bargain today.” By purposefully collecting harmless disapproval, you will come to realize that nothing important changes, except that now you are able to assert yourself.

You can be diplomatically assertive and sensitive to others and still do things some people won’t like. The only way to get through life is to tolerate some disapproval.

“So what gets in the way of our knowing who we really are?
What untethers us from our truly infinite and Spiritual nature?
The long answer to such questions is complex and multi-layered. But since this is a blog post, I’ll go with the short answer.

The number one thing that makes us forget our True nature as Spiritual Beings is thought, or more specifically, our fascination with our thoughts. From the Time we are very young, we devote most of our Life’s energy and attention to our thoughts. And Truth be told, most of them are not that interesting, or helpful.”

How to Inactivate Coronavirus
by Tim Newman
medicalnewstoday.com

Agents, including hydrogen peroxide, ethanol, and sodium hypochlorite (a chemical in bleach), quickly and successfully inactivate coronaviruses.

For instance, the authors write that h]ydrogen peroxide was effective with a concentration of 0.5% and an incubation time of 1 minute.”

After assessing the evidence, the authors conclude:

“Surface disinfection with 0.1% sodium hypochlorite or 62–71% ethanol significantly reduces coronavirus infectivity on surfaces within 1 min[ute] exposure time.”

Conversely, solutions of a biocide called benzalkonium chloride produced conflicting results; and chlorhexidine digluconate, which people use as a topical antiseptic, was ineffective.

The authors write that “[t]ransmission in healthcare settings can be successfully prevented when appropriate measures are consistently performed.” Handwashing, in particular, is critical.

They explain how, in Taiwan, “installing hand wash stations in the emergency department was the only infection control measure which was significantly associated with the protection from healthcare workers from acquiring the [SARS coronavirus].”

Although the studies the authors summarize in this review did not investigate COVID-19, they believe that the results are also likely to be relevant to this latest coronavirus. All the human coronaviruses that the research had investigated seem to be susceptible to the same chemical agents.

Another new study conducted by researchers at the Penn State College of Medicine has found that a common dental item can inactivate human coronaviruses: mouthwash and oral rinses.

For the study, the results of which were published in the Journal of Medical Virology, researchers tested various oral and nasopharyngeal rinses — which included a 1% solution of baby shampoo, a neti pot, peroxide sore-mouth cleansers, and mouthwashes — to determine how well they inactivated human coronaviruses, namely 229e, a strain that can cause the common cold.

Human volunteers were not used in the study; the 229e coronaviruses were grown in human liver cells in the lab before being immersed in the various solutions tested as part of the study.

The baby shampoo solution, “which is often used by head and neck doctors to rinse the sinuses,” the researchers noted in a news release regarding the findings, was particularly effective; the solution inactivated “greater than 99.9% of human coronavirus after a two-minute contact time,” they said.

The mouthwash and oral rinses tested —  which included Listerine Antiseptic, Orajel Antiseptic Rinse, and Crest Pro‐Health, among others — were also efficacious, they found: “Many inactivated greater than 99.9% of virus after only 30 seconds of contact time and some inactivated 99.99% of the virus after 30 seconds.”

USING MOUTHWASH AFTER EXERCISE HAS THIS BIZARRE EFFECT ON BLOOD PRESSURE, STUDY CLAIMS

More specifically, researchers “used a test to replicate the interaction of the virus in the nasal and oral cavities with the rinses and mouthwashes,” as the nasal and oral cavities are thought to be main points of entry for human coronaviruses, including SARS-CoV-2, better known as COVID-19. Though the researchers didn’t specifically test SARS-CoV-2 in the study, the novel virus is genetically similar to the other human coronaviruses tested, leading the researchers to hypothesize the results could be similar

A strain of human coronavirus was mixed with “baby shampoo solutions, various peroxide antiseptic rinses and various brands of mouthwash,” allowing the solutions to interact with the virus for different amounts of time, including 30 seconds, one minute, and two minutes. The solutions were then diluted to “prevent further virus inactivation,” they wrote

“To measure how much virus was inactivated, the researchers placed the diluted solutions in contact with cultured human cells. They counted how many cells remained alive after a few days of exposure to the viral solution and used that number to calculate the amount of human coronavirus that was inactivated as a result of exposure to the mouthwash or oral rinse that was tested,” per the news release

COVID-19 TRANSMISSION COULD BE PREVENTED BY MOUTHWASH, STUDY SUGGESTS

Lead study author Craig Meyers, a distinguished professor of microbiology and immunology and obstetrics and gynecology, said the results show the amount of virus (viral load) in an infected person’s mouth could be reduced by using these common over-the-counter products, possibly helping to reduce the spread of the novel virus.

“Methods to reduce transmission are needed,” Meyers said in a statement. “The products we tested are readily available and often already part of people’s daily routines.”

The team’s findings bolster past research that also looked at how oral rinses and mouthwashes may be able to reduce the viral load of human coronaviruses. For instance, a study published in the scientific journal Function also concluded mouthwash could play a role in preventing the transmission of the novel coronavirus

Additionally, a more recent study published in The Journal of Infectious Diseases in August came to a similar conclusion. Meyers said that his findings add to this research, noting his team evaluated the solutions at longer contact times in addition to studying over-the-counter products and nasal rinses that were not evaluated in the other study.

However, Toni Meister of Ruhr University Bochum in Germany, who led the study published in The Journal of Infectious Diseases, warned the findings do not mean mouthwash on its own can treat COVID-19. Indeed: “Gargling with a mouthwash cannot inhibit the production of viruses in the cells,” Meister said at the time, “but could reduce the viral load in the short term where the greatest potential for infection comes from, namely in the oral cavity and throat — and this could be useful in certain situations, such as at the dentist or during the medical care of COVID-19 patients.”

CLICK HERE FOR COMPLETE  CORONAVIRUS COVERAGE

Meyers echoed this sentiment

“People who test positive for COVID-19 and return home to quarantine may possibly transmit the virus to those they live with,” said Meyers. “Certain professions including dentists and other health care workers are at a constant risk of exposure. Clinical trials are needed to determine if these products can reduce the amount of virus COVID-positive patients or those with high-risk occupations may spread while talking, coughing or sneezing. Even if the use of these solutions could reduce transmission by 50%, it would have a major impact.”

The news has petrified us about the possibilities. Here’s how to cope.

Posted Mar 09, 2020 in Psychology Today

Confronting fear leads to a sense of accomplishment and a sense of empowerment, and allows us to feel a little more control over situations. The point of this blog post is not to provide a rationale for fear, but rather to suggest ways in which we can balance our fear by maintaining a sense of well-being during these types of challenging times. Try these self-care tips in the wake of fear:

  • Maintain a calm state of self-awareness and limit the amount of time you watch or listen to the news. It’s important to know what’s going on in the world, but you also need to know when to turn off the TV or stop reading the news and maintain a sense of balance. Tell yourself that being fearful might be causing some chaos in your life.
    .
  • Connect with others. Try to interact with positive-thinking individuals and those who have a good influence on you. These individuals can be friends or even a therapist. Listen to your heart and determine who resonates with your worldview. Studies have shown that loneliness can lead to the stress response, so try not to isolate yourself. With the most recent orders for “Safety in Place,” and lockdown, connecting via email, phone and letter writing is very important to minimize the chance of loneliness.
    .
  • Reduce stress. When stressed, cortisol production is increased. Cortisol helps fight inflammation in the body, but when it’s constantly secreted, then it’s less effective in fighting inflammation and disease. To reduce stress in your life, try maintaining a regular meditation practice, practicing yoga, and incorporating proper breathing techniques into your daily routine.
    .
  • Use humor, which is an excellent way to temper fear. It also helps keep things light and not so intense.
    .
  • Build your immunity. Those with strong immune systems minimize their chances of getting sick, so get proper exercise, eat well, and take the necessary supplements. Also, research has shown that those who get at least seven hours of sleep a night have more resistance to viruses, and thus have fewer side effects.
    .
  • Eat healthy foods. Try to avoid processed foods and sweeteners. Some foods that can contribute to your overall health include citrus fruits, red bell peppers, broccoli, garlic, ginger, spinach, almonds, yogurt, green tea, papaya, kiwi, poultry, sunflower seeds, and shellfish. Also, remember to stay hydrated and minimize alcohol consumption.
    .
  • Practice gratitude. When you’re feeling fearful, try replacing that emotion with an appreciation for all the good in your life. Even when under lockdown, it’s important to be grateful for having a roof over your head and some food in your refrigerator.
    .
  • Maintain a journaling practice. Journaling is a safe place where you can vent about your fears and frustrations. Sometimes writing can help you work through what’s bothering you. It can help you get out of the rabbit hole of negativity about how “awful” everything is. Gratitude journaling is also a powerful practice.
    .
  • Take up a hobby (or more than one). Think about what brings you peace of mind and also gives you pleasure, whether it’s golf, tennis, crafts, games, art, music, writing, or watching movies. Also, reading a good book can open your mind to new ideas and thought processes – especially inspirational memoirs and novels. There are many things you can do in the solitude of your home.
    .
  • Consider hypnosis. This can help eliminate negative thought patterns and beliefs. (It’s more successful for some than for others.)
    .
  • Practice good hygiene. Use hand sanitizers of proper hand washing techniques when in contact with anyone or anything outside your home. Hand washing is critical for disease prevention and spread, especially before eating and during food preparation. It’s important to wash for at least 20 seconds. Cover your mouth when coughing and sneezing, and if you do have to cough or sneeze, do so into the inside of your elbow. In general, viruses can live on surfaces for at least 24 hours, so viruses can be easily passed among family members. Make sure to frequently wipe down surfaces.

In summary,
accept the fact that this strain of coronavirus is part of our existence now and the numbers seem to be increasing by the minute. This virus is very contagious and it’s symptoms more serious than many in the past. While dealing with the difficulties of this time, It’s important to affirm the positive and remember what is good and powerful in our lives. Surrendering can bring about a sense of peace and calm; and in doing so, we’re empowering ourselves and not allowing fear to control us.

The Eternal Reality / Through Your Child’s Eyes / Friday: At School (Shakespeare Play Preparation)

To know of the Eternal Reality,
silence your thoughts.

Reality can be perceived
through a clear and peaceful mind.
Deep Meditation and Prayer
enables us
to reveal what is truly
Real.

“. . . when thou Prayest,
enter into thy closet
and when thou has shut thy door,
Pray to thy Father
which is in secret.”

Matthew 6:5-6

Whenever we are thinking,
we are not mentally at the place
where we are thinking.
Our thoughts
take us to another
time and place.

When we confront this
web of illusion
we call Life and living,
we come closer to the boundaries
of Spiritual awareness.
And
we realize more and more
that explanations of the Infinite
cannot be attained using
finite means.

Within the illusion of physical reality,
it is not possible
using its own internal methods and concepts
to fully understand it.
By accessing a higher level of awareness,
beyond the boundaries of
‘physical illusion’,
we escape constraints imposed upon us
by the finite physical World.

           A more complete picture.

You,
like the Infinite from which you came,
are part of an Eternal reality.
And,
like
the Eternal void,
every Child of God
is filled with Infinite Love
and Infinite possibilities.

My Dear Friends,
experience deep meditation
and Prayer
as a profound silence
beyond all words, thoughts, feelings, and sensations
“The still point of the turning World,”
as T. S. Eliot called it.

Philosophers and poets and sages
throughout all of our Human history,
have valued the experience
of being in touch
with the source
of their Consciousness.

        To another time and place.

Those in times passed
gained access to Spiritual Dimensions
by deep meditation and Prayer,
to a perspective beyond the physical.
And,
they attained a more complete picture
of reality.
The Human Being
is an amazing, brilliantly designed
Spiritual Organism,
capable of stunning and amazing feats
of conscious expansion.

Many
attest to the Miracles of Meditation
and Prayer,
and how it has changed
their lives.

“I gotta take a little time,
A little time to think things over.
I better read between the lines
In case I need it when I’m older.
Now this mountain I must climb.
Feels like a World upon my shoulders,
And through the clouds I see Love shine.
It keeps me warm as Life grows colder.
In my Life there’s been heartache and pain.
I don’t know if I can face it again.
Can’t stop now,
I’ve traveled so far.

To change this lonely Life
I wanna know what Love is
I want you to show me.”
Mick Jones
play song

To perceive this moment,
be a part of the reality
revealed
through your Love.

Walk in Nature
with your Lord.
Look to the Light.
There you are!
Beautiful.
Your Love is so Beautiful.
It is the Light
that shines in your
Heart.

Goodnight.

When our children talk to us, or present us with challenging behavior, our natural instinct is to dive in and fix problems – or fix our children.

We talk too much, and we become autobiographical.

Everything we say is from our own point of view. Our natural reactions are rarely understanding – yet that is what our children need from us.

If our children are experiencing emotions that are ‘inconvenient’ to us and that may be challenging, the most effective thing we can do is respond to their distress with emotional first-aid.

When we enter a child’s World and empathically reflect their feelings, they regulate their emotions more quickly, they feel safer, and they also understand that what they are experiencing is normal.

When I Don’t Know, Is Knowing / The Art of Now / Important Dates

Image

The answers
to many of Life’s questions
have become so evident,
that they became
obscure.

star

          How near the Truth is.

Some evenings
find us
staring at a Star,
wondering
who we are,
seeking answers from
Afar,
never knowing
how near the Truth is
to where we are.

butterfly-and-red-flfower-b

     More than the most beautiful.

Faith
is not just Believing.
It is without a doubt,
knowing.

 Jesus said to them,
Truly I say to you, if you have Faith,
and do not doubt,
you shall not only do what was done to the fig tree,
but even if you say to this mountain,
‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’
it shall happen.
And all things you ask in prayer,
Believing,
you shall receive.”
– Matthew 21:20–22

Faith,
My Dear Friends,
is beyond believing.
It is not just believing,
but,
when I don’t know,
is knowing.

Faith
is more than
the most beautiful
element of Creation,
it is Creation.
Faith
is what Dreams
may Come.

mt-reflection

     A reflection of His Faith.

Faith
is the Miracle
of knowing.
And Faith
is the Miracle of knowing
that everything is
a Gift,
and that every Gift
is from God.

It is knowing that the Life
gifted to us from God,
is an Act of Faith
in us.

interior-b

Without Faith
nothing,
and no one,
would exist.

Yes,
your existence
is a powerful statement
of Faith.
For Faith
becomes us.
It is us.

Our Faith in God
is a reflection
of His Faith
in His beautiful Creation.

yellow-one-flower-b

Without Faith nothing would exist.

We are so much more,
and in so being,
so much LESS,
than what we perceive ourselves to be.
Philosophers of the past were right,
our senses really do deceive us.

We have been told
our reality is made up of
physical material things
and that our world
is independently existing
and objective.
But quantum physics tell us
is that there is no true
“physicality”
in the Universe.

Atoms are made of focused vorticies
of energy – miniature tornadoes
constantly spinning and vibrating
and popping into and out of existence
billions of times each second.

sun-streaks-good-b

You are not alone in your thoughts and feelings.

If you observed
the composition of an atom
with a very powerful microscope,
you would see a small, invisible
tornado like vortex,
with a number of infinitely small energy vortices.
These make up the structure of the
atom.

And if you focused in much closer
on the structure of the atom,
you would see nothing,
you would observe a physical
void.

The atom has no physical structure.
Which means
that we have no physical structure.
What we think of as physical things
do not have any physical structure!

Atoms (and WE)
are made out of invisible energy,
not matter.

another-galaxy

Thought is real, physical is the Illusion.

The Universe
is not an assembly of physical parts.

Instead, our Universe
comes from a holistic entanglement
of immaterial energy waves.
This discovery stems from the work
of Albert Einstein, Max Planck,
and Werner Heisenberg,
and others.

And what does it mean
that our physical material reality
isn’t really physical at all?

It means,
My Dear Friends,
we are Spiritual Beings,
filled with energy.

And,
as observers,
we are involved with
the Creation of our own
reality.
Our minds
create the illusion
of physical reality.

flower

Everything that exists is Thought.

Physicists now admit
that the Universe is
a “mental” construction
of consciousness.

“The stream of knowledge
is heading toward a non-mechanical reality;
the Universe begins to look
more like a great THOUGHT
than like a great machine.”
Pioneering physicist Sir James Jeans

But we have Faith
in the illusion of our
physical being,
rather than
our real Spiritual selves.

“Mind no longer appears
to be an accidental intruder
into the realm of matter,
we ought rather hail it as the creator
and governor of the realm of matter.”

– R. C. Henry, “The Mental Universe”; Nature

Everything that exists
is Thought
in the mind of God.
Everything that is,
will and has ever existed,
is because of the thoughts
in the mind of our Father
in Heaven Above.

beach-and-moon-c

The Universe is a “mental” construction.

Life is much more complex
than we can ever imagine.
Our thoughts are limited
by being confined in a Human body.
We are unable to see
other realms and dimensions
of reality.
We are Spiritual Beings
in sufferance of having
a Human experience.

Everything
is a thought
from the mind of
God.

You,
My Precious Friend,
are not alone
in your thoughts and feelings.
For God is with you,
always.

b

A Flowering Future you have not dreamed of.

My Dear Parents,
place your Faith in God.
And put your Faith
in His Beautiful Creations,
His Blessed Gifts,
His Children
that come through us.

And your Faith
will blossom into the Beauty
of a Flowering Future
you have not dreamed of –
into Children of Faith
empowered by
the Holy Spirit.

rose-on-book

For the greater good of all Mankind.

Yes,
one day your Child grows
and is filled with Faith
and the Love of God,
and yours.

And will your Child
always uphold your Faith?
No.
You had a Human Child.
But remember,
you are Human too.
And Faith and Forgiveness
go hand in hand.
One is the Flower,
the other
the ground
in which it grows.

Without Faith
there is no Vision,
and no common Vision
for the greater good
of all Mankind.

Goodnight

“The function of prayer soren

but rather to change the nature
of the one who Prays.”

1. To improve your performance, stop thinking about it (unselfconsciousness).

2. To avoid worrying about the future, focus on the present (savoring).

3. If you want a future with your significant other, inhabit the present (breathe).

4. To make the most of time, lose track of it (flow).

5. If something is bothering you, move toward it rather than away from it (acceptance).

6. Know that you don’t know (engagement).
