The Spiritual Nature of Reality Through the Lens of Love / Essential Reasons to Eat Organic Food / Friday: At School (Shakespeare Rehearsal)

Through the Lens of Love
we can begin
to truly Live.

           The Spiritual Nature of Reality.

Startling revelations
show our World
as deeply mysterious and very strange,
far stranger
than we can ever
know.

“Not only is the Universe
stranger

than we imagine,
it is stranger
than we can
imagine.”

Sir Arthur Eddington
English astronomer (1882 – 1944)

And thus,
we find our Humanity
at the very Heart

of a Cosmic riddle.

My Dear Friends,
those who seek
to understand

the Spiritual qualities
of Life,

are freed from much
of the misery

other people
live with.

             There is Beauty in Tomorrow.

We can
defy
the prevailing pessimism
of our time

and come to see the World
with a vast Cosmic view,
opening up the Spiritual Wisdom
of the ages,
permitting the Love of God
to enter into our lives,

as we allow ourselves
to rejoice
in the God given
Power of Thought
itself.

Enlarging our perspectives
and searching
for answers to questions
known and new,
can renew our Faith
in fundamental ways
and open up our awareness
to the Spiritual Nature
of Reality.

The Spiritual Wisdom of the ages.

We are capable
of exploring
the Knowledge of the Ages
in such a manner
that we see Truth
through another lens,
the very powerful lens
of God’s Vibrant and Eternal
Love.

In such Love,
there is

so much more
to see,
than we can ever
envision,
so much more
to know
than we shall
ever be aware of.
With His Love
to guide me,
there is

so much more
to me,
than I imagined
I could ever

be.

                  There is Beauty in Believing.

The clarity
of thought imparted
by deep reflection
about the Love
of God,
will come alive
as you journey
down the pathway
of Light
and Hope.

There are
Schools of Thought
that lead much of Mankind
to new
Thresholds of Understanding.

In your Mind’s Eye
flow Rivers of reasons
to wonder
why
we can never deny
Human Consciousness
is capable of
Infinite Awareness.
And that Awareness
is one of knowing
there is Beauty in Believing:
Believing in Yourself,
Believing in Tomorrow,
and in the Sacred Promises made
in the Holy Word
of God.

                      There is Beauty.

Paradise
is the place
where God patiently waits
for your restless
Heart
to beat in Time
with His.

The messages we find
in the Beautiful Music of our Lives
and in the Holy Bible
make us aware
of what is missing in Life.
They reveal the God who gives us Life,
the God who waits patiently for us.

Sometimes
we find ourselves
running from God,
like a Child who fears being in trouble
or running to God
like a Child running into the arms
of a Loving parent.
But,
either way,
God waits for us.

For every moment
of doubt
that passes by,
the further away
from Home
you feel.

Goodnight.

Permitting the Love of God to enter into our lives.

17 Essential Reasons to Eat Organic Food

by

Organic food was the only option for thousands of years.  Now, with pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and genetically-modified foods, organic is still the best option.  Here are 17 reasons to eat organic food:

1.  Genetically-modified foods were unleashed on the environment and the public by corporations like Monsanto without prior testing to determine their safety.  In other words, eating genetically-modified foods (which most people in in large amounts) is participating in a long-term, uncontrolled experiment. Choose organic to avoid participating in this experiment.

2.  More and more research is coming in about the health threat of genetically-modified food.  The results range from intestinal damage, allergies, liver or pancreatic problems, testicular cellular changes, tumors, and even death in the experimental animals. For more information, read the excellent books by Jeffrey M. Smith Seeds of Deception and Genetic Roulette. I’ll discuss more of the problems linked with GMOs in upcoming blogs. Eating third-party certified organic foods or those that are guaranteed to be grown from organic seed helps protect you from the health consequences of GMOs.

4 Potential Health Risks of Eating GMO Foods

3.  Fruits and vegetables are real food, not pesticide factories. Eighteen percent of all genetically-modified seeds (and therefore foods that grow from them) are engineered to produce their own pesticides.  Research shows that these seeds continue producing pesticides inside your body once you’ve eaten the food grown from them! Foods that are actually pesticide factories…no thanks.

4.  They’re free of neurotoxins – toxins that are damaging to brain and nerve cells. A commonly-used class of pesticides called organophosphates was originally developed as a toxic nerve agent during World War I. When there was no longer a need for them in warfare, industry adapted them to kill pests on foods. Many pesticides are still considered neurotoxins.  Learn more about pesticides in The 4-Week Ultimate Body Detox Plan.

5.  They’re supportive of growing children’s brains and bodies.  Children’s growing brains and bodies are far more susceptible to toxins than adults.  Choosing organic helps feed their bodies without the exposure to pesticides and genetically-modified organisms, both of which have a relatively short history of use (and therefore safety).

6.  In study after study, research from independent organizations consistently shows organic food is higher in nutrients than traditional foods.  Research shows that organic produce is higher in vitamin C, antioxidants, and the minerals calcium, iron, chromium, and magnesium. (For more information, check out The Life Force Diet).

Keep reading to learn how organic food is better for the environment…

7.  The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that pesticides pollute the primary drinking source for half the American population. Organic farming is the best solution to the problem. Buying organic helps reduce pollution in our drinking water.

8.  Organic food is earth-supportive (when big business keeps their hands out of it). Organic food production has been around for thousands of years and is the sustainable choice for the future.  Compare that to modern agricultural practices that are destructive of the environment through widespread use of herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, and fertilizers and have resulted in drastic environmental damage in many parts of the world.

9.  Organic food choices grown on small-scale organic farms help ensure independent family farmers can create a livelihood. Consider it the domestic version of fair trade.

10. Most organic food simply tastes better than the pesticide-grown counterparts.

11. Organic food is not exposed to gas-ripening like some non-organic fruits and vegetables (like bananas).

12.  Organic farms are safer for farm workers. Research at the Harvard School of Public Health found a 70% increase in Parkinson’s disease among people exposed to pesticides. Choosing organic foods means that more people will be able to work on farms without incurring the higher potential health risk of Parkinson’s or other illnesses.

13.  Organic food supports wildlife habitats. Even with commonly used amounts of pesticides, wildlife is being harmed by exposure to pesticides.

14.  Eating organic may reduce your cancer risk.  The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) considers 60% of herbicides, 90% of fungicides, and 30% of insecticides potentially cancer-causing.  It is reasonable to think that the rapidly increasing rates of cancer are at least partly linked to the use of these carcinogenic pesticides.

15.  Choosing organic meat lessens your exposure to antibiotics, synthetic hormones, and drugs that find their way into the animals and ultimately into you.

16.  Organic food is tried and tested. By some estimates genetically-modified food makes up 80% of the average person’s food consumption. Genetic modification of food is still experimental. Avoid being part of this wide scale and uncontrolled experiment.

17.  Organic food supports greater biodiversity.  Diversity is fundamental to life on this planet. Genetically-modified and non-organic food is focused on high yield monoculture and is destroying biodiversity.

Keeping harmful chemicals in your home puts both children and pets at risk (as well as adults), especially if they accidentally get into them when you’re not looking. That’s why it’s best to use all-natural products that pose absolutely NO risk, except to your target.

Below are ways to effectively deter ants naturally, provided by Mother Nature Network.

Lemon Juice – Spraying pure lemon juice in or around openings near your home can prevent the pests from entering.

Kylee found several new friends.

Cinnamon – Ground, oil or combined with ground cloves, both fill your home with warm, seasonal scents and deter ants if sprinkled in their paths.

Peppermint – either by itself, or combined with equal parts water can be mixed and sprayed directly at the ants or along their pathways.

Coffee grounds – place used coffee grounds in the cracks near their entryway. The coffee deters the ants, forcing them to set up shop somewhere else.

Chalk – Drawing a line around windows or doorway entries has kept ants at bay for some. You can usually find chalk at home improvement stores, some of which come in a squeeze bottle, making application easy.

Baking soda and powdered sugar – Mixing baking soda and powdered sugar in jar lids and placing them in strategic corners can greatly reduce ant populations.

Hot water and dish soap – Filling a spray bottle with soap and hot water can work very effectively against ants. Also, food items that attract ants, such as honey jars, can be placed on a small water-filled saucer to prevent the insects from reaching it.

Vinegar plus equal parts water isn’t just great for cleaning your kitchen counter tops and floors but has been known to sufficiently kill unwanted insects. Pouring the solution where the ants have their nest is key. You can also mix vinegar with peppermint for an extra kick that gets rid of them faster.

Cream of wheat – Posts on Helpful Gardener say cream of wheat takes care of ant infestations. After eating the cream of wheat, rolled oats, dry cornmeal or grits, it swells up in their guts and their stomachs explode.

There are so many effective ways to control ants, or other insects, without using toxic chemicals. Next week, I may focus on helping to control the Uncles! And later, the pesky cousins.

Also from Natural News: For decades, top officials at the Environmental Protection Agency (PEA) were aware that a compound approved for agricultural use in the United States was wiping out the honeybee population, but they chose to ignore the compound’s effects in deference to pressure from agri-giant corporations.

I that Dr. A setting the good example for lunch? And what's with the fur coat?

Is that Dr. A setting a good example for lunch? And, what’s with the fur coat?

Worse, the agency reacted harshly to anyone within the EPA who attempted to bring the issue to light, including through firings, forced reassignments and other actions.According to a scholarly 2014 study [PDF] compiled by researcher Rosemary Mason, “on behalf of a global network of independent scientists, beekeepers and environmentalists,” and published on the website of MIT, “We have found evidence to show that the herbicide glyphosate (or alternatives) the primary substance found in Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide – became a global best-selling herbicide because the public was told by industry and the regulators that it was ‘safe.’ “
Travis showed us his two handed method.

Travis showed us his two handed method.

The results have been disastrous. The heavy use of glyphosate has led to the rise of so-called “superweeds” that are resistant to the herbicide. And there is another compound that was approved by the EPAover the objections of scientists — that has had a devastating effect on the nation’s honeybee population: clothianidin, which is used for seed treatment on corn and canola, by Bayer.

Alden showed us the finer points of befriending the feathered ones.

        ‘Honeybees are going extinct’

According to this EPA document describing clothianidin [PDF], it “is highly toxic to honey bees on an acute contact basis,” and “has the potential for toxic chronic exposure to honey bees, as well as other non-target pollinators, through residues in nectar and pollen. “In honey bees, the effects of this toxic chronic exposure may include lethal effects in the larvae and reproductive effects in the queen,”. Her research team found additional evidence of corporate/EPA cover-up regarding the effects of clothianidin.
This 99-page EPA memorandum dated November 2, 2010, [PDF] noted, in part:The major risk concerns are with aquatic free-swimming and benthic invertebrates, terrestrial invertebrates, birds and mammals.Clothianidin is an insecticide that is both persistent and systemic. Acute toxicity studies to honey bees show that clothianidin is highly toxic on both a contact and an oral basis.

Tests and field studies, as well as incident reports suggest the potential for long term toxic risk to honey bees and other beneficial insects.

A number of EPA scientists – those with integrity, anyway – have tried along the way to sound the alarm – over both glyphosate and clothianidin.

In a piece for The Huffington Post, former EPA scientist Evaggelos Vallianatos wrote that honeybees were on the verge of extinction. Here is a beneficial insect pollinating a third of America’s crops, especially fruits and vegetables, and we thank the fragile and highly beneficial honeybees with stupefying killing.

A good time was had by all at the beautiful Fort Worth Zoo.

Poisoning of honeybees became routine in the mid-1970s with the EPA’s approval of neurotoxins encapsulated in dust-size particles that took days to release their deadly gas. He further noted that some of his colleagues have tried to denounce the EPA actions, but the agency reacted “with fury” after one EPA ecologists discovered neurotoxic plastic spheres in the gut of a queen honeybee, which “meant poison in the honey. “It forced the scientist out of his laboratory and into paper pushing in Washington. Approval of the industry’s neurotoxins expanded to cover most major crops. This meant honeybees had less and less space to search for food without dying,” Villianatos wrote. Note: LeVonna and I maintain a honeybee hive behind our home. Honeybees have thrived on our property for decades. We have lived in harmony and have treasured their presence. The wildflowers we keep during the Spring and Summer, in front of the school, are beautiful to see.

But more importantly, they are grown without the use of pesticides and benefit our precious, life sustaining honey bees and many other beautiful creations, such as spectacular moths, mosquito eating and unbelievably beautiful Dragonflies, our precious friends the Praying Mantises, our bountiful and beautiful life saving birds and many others.meercat
