We Are Alive Forever / The Power of Pure Consciousness / Obesity May Double Risk Of Cancer / Friday: T. B. A.

We hear of
Miracles.
And there are
many.

My Dear Friend,
Miracles abound
with the simplicity
of knowing,
that everything
is a Miracle.

No.
We are never fully
aware,
that every Life
is a Miracle,
every day
is a Miracle,
and every moment
is truly Miraculous.

William Wordsworth
wrote in a poem that begins,
“The World is too much with us;
late and soon,
getting and spending,
we lay waste our powers;
Little we see in Nature
that is ours.”

It is very hard
to reflect upon what is going on,
because demands for our time
and our energy
don’t diminish.

The beauty of God’s creation is everywhere.

And so,
we are seldom
in the moment.

Slowing down
is essential
and
requires the recognition
that it is important
to do so.

Finding a tranquil location,
perched along the banks of a soothing River
makes it easy to slow your pace
and discover the art
of relaxation.
Since the Beauty of God’s creation
is everywhere,
it isn’t necessary to travel
many miles
to behold it.

The wonders of our Father
in Heaven
abound all around us,
surround us,
are us.
And these marvels
reveal much about our
Creator.
His Beauty
is reflected
in His
Creations.

Yes,
it is reflected
in YOU.

To sense our consciousness,
just slow down
and take notice of the marvels
unfolding all around us.
To live in
WONDER,
focus your conscious thoughts,
your good intentions
and physical energy.

Get rid of the
negative emotion.
Our reality
is that everyone
is playing the game
of Life
at their own pace.

Escape to another Century,
with your intention of understanding
a totally other time
and place.
Slow your pace
and sustain your reading attention.
It is important that mom AND dad
model the slow reading
of truly great literature
for their children.

Our shadows are cast by the same Light.

My Dear Friends,
the brevity
of our Being
dictates many things.
But
our brevity is
illusory.
Our constituent essence
exists lividly buried,
and forever alive,
within our DNA
and that of our inheritors,
our children,
and our children’s
children.
And,
more importantly,
we are alive forever
in the Spirit.

“For you have been born again,
but not to a Life that will quickly end.
Your new Life will last forever
because it comes from
the Eternal, Living Word
of God.”

1 Peter 1:23

The essence
of our Being
is truly designed,
Biologically and Spiritually,
to be alive
forever.

As every Flower
blossoms,
it soon fades away.
And Flowers teach us:
we each
have the capacity
to blossom,
and express
the Beauty of Love
to the whole World.

“Our Spiritual roots
are where our Life gets its nourishment.
It is our infinite source of the Love,
happiness, and serenity that we all deeply desire.
Through Spirituality we gain
an outlook that best benefits
our Life.

Our shadows
are cast
by the same Light.
But,
our options
for Life and Living,
lie in many
Beautiful dimensions.

Good
Beautiful
night.

The Power of Pure Consciousness

Experiencing ‘consciousness-in-itself’ can have a massively therapeutic effect. It brings a sense of being firmly rooted in ourselves, of being truly who we are. We also have a sense of being truly where we are, realizing that before we were only half-present, and everything we see around us seems intensely real and alive, as if our perceptions have become much more acute. But above all, we experience a profound sense of inner peace and natural happiness. As the Hindu and Buddhist traditions have always held, the nature of consciousness-in-itself (which means the consciousness inside us and the consciousness which pervades the whole universe) is bliss. Getting into contact with the pure consciousness inside us enables us, therefore, to experience this bliss. Indeed, it could be said that it’s only when we do this that we can experience true happiness.

Obesity May Double Risk Of Colorectal Cancer

Women who are overweight or obese have up to twice the risk of developing colorectal cancer before age 50. The study published in the journal JAMA Oncology, said that it was it is of utmost importance for women to maintain a healthy weight, beginning in early adulthood for prevention of early-onset colorectal cancer.

Compared with women with the lowest body mass index (BMIs), 18.5-22.9 kilograms per square meter, women with the highest BMIs, greater than 30, had almost twice the risk of early-onset of colorectal cancer, Xinhua news agency reported.

“We hypothesised that the obesity epidemic may partially contribute to this national and global concern in early-onset colorectal cancer rates, but we were surprised by the strength of the link and the contribution of obesity and weight change since early adulthood,” said Yin Cao, Assistant Professor of surgery in the Division of Public Health Sciences at Washington University.

For the study, published in the journal JAMA Oncology, the team included data from 85,256 women aged 25 to 44.It must be understood that this is an association study, which does not establish that increasing weight is a cause of early-onset colorectal cancer. More studies are needed to uncover the causal relationship between the two and identify young people at high risk of colorectal cancer at younger ages.

The American Cancer Society recently lowered the recommended age at which most people should undergo a first screening colonoscopy. The new guidelines recommend screening beginning at age 45, down from the previous recommendation of age 50.

Obesity is a condition characterized by excessive body weight. Your diet can play a significant role in managing obesity. Here are some foods that are known for their fat burning abilities.

1. Tomato: Tomatoes encourage the production of the amino acid called Carnitine, which is an organic molecule that plays an important role in the regulation of fatty acid and energy metabolism. Tomatoes also have a compound known as 9-oxo-ODA that helps reduce lipids in blood, which further helps in preventing weight gain and belly fat.

2. Green Tea: Catechins are one of the antioxidants present in green tea which are believed to boost metabolism, further promoting weight loss.

3. Celery: Containing barely 16 calories per 100 grams (as per USDA), celery is ranked high among negative calorie foods. Packed with fiber, celery is also rich in vitamin A, vitamin C, and folate.

4. Broccoli: Plant-based foods are high in fiber and great calorie burners. Containing barely 34 calories per 100 grams. Broccoli is ranked high amongst superfoods. It is packed with fibers and antioxidants and studies have shown that they may also have certain anti-cancer properties.

The Only Thing Worth Living For / Miracles / Friday and Monday: Easter Holiday

Dedicated
To those who have Loved.
You are Blessed
Far beyond
What you will ever
See.

bird

If you never Love, how long will that last?

This moment is precious.
And this very second
Shall not last,
But an Eternity.

Never
Can be an Eternity,
Forever.

If you never laughed,
If you never cried,
If you never said Hello,
Or goodbye,
Would the laughter
And tears exist?
Would you have ever
Been kissed?

And what
If you never Loved?
How long
Will that last?
Eternity
Can be forever
Or forever never.

sunset 5

                 Never can reflect forever.

Never is forever,
And forever can last
Forever and ever.
Nothing
Is also
Infinite.

“Like attracts like.
Whatever the conscious mind
thinks and believes,

the subconscious
identically creates.”
– Brian Adams

The face of Love
Reflects the symmetry
Of reality.
Love looks into a mirror,
And knows,
Never
Can reflect forever.

flower blue

                    Love is the Key.

Reflections
May be made
Manifest
In what cannot
Be.

“Thoughts are boomerangs,
returning with precision
to their source.

Choose wisely
which ones you throw.”
– Author Unknown

Without Love,
The Landscape
Of our Being
May reside
On the other side
Of Existence.
How
Do we know
We are alive,
If we have never
Loved?

sunset 10

        This moment shall last forever.

Love
Sees far, far beyond
This precious moment.

“Till the sheep in the valley
come home my way

Till the stars fall around me
and find me alone
When the sun comes a-singin’
I’ll still be waitin’.”
– Rod McKeun

The absence of Life
Is not death,
Until Birth be.
And through
The Divine Love
Of God,
We
Are born again,
In Love
With Life Eternally.

Love is the Key.
It unlocks the door
To Eternity.

bird 3

              One moment in time.

Love,
If but for one
Moment in time,
Is Light Divine,
And lives on in Infinity.
One moment in Love
Is always somewhere
In Time,
Somewhere,
Perhaps everywhere.
Once in Love,
The Heart remembers,
And is
Forever and ever
In Love.

“At every point in time,
there are Infinite possibilities
and a parallel reality
exists for each possibility,

so there are literally Infinite branches.”
– Stargate

Episode: ‘Point Of View’

Love exists
Somewhere in time,
In the Heart of everyone,
And every living thing.
Every newborn child
Is filled with Love
For Life.

rose

Love is always somewhere in Time.

Love ripples
Through time,
Tearing the very Fabric
Of Existence,
Shredding all illusions
Of the night,
Piercing the veil
Of a dark life
Of mere existence
With a brilliant Shaft
Of Eternal Light,
And moving through
Our brief lives,
Through our Loved ones
Scorching our Souls
Like the heat
Of a thousand Suns.

No.
This very second
Shall not last,
But an Eternity.

sunset

       Love looks into a mirror.

Love and Life are fragile
And Splendored things.
And so very much more.

Love and Life
Are the same.
They are indistinguishable.
One
Births the other.

“Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high,
There’s a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby.
Somewhere over the rainbow

Skies are blue,
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true.”
– E.Y. Harburg

Love is
The only thing
Worth living for.

bird 2

             Love and Life are fragile.

“Love
is a many splendored thing

It’s the April rose
that only grows
in the early Spring

Love is nature’s way
of giving a reason
to be living

Sammy Fain, Paul Webster

Do not hesitate,
My Precious Friends,
To Love.
For this moment
Shall last
Forever,
Or forever
Never.

Goodnight.

Every cubic inch of space is a miracle.

Miracles
by Walt Whitman

Walt Whitman“Why, who makes much of a miracle?
As to me I know of nothing else but miracles.

Whether I walk the streets of Manhattan,
Or dart my sight over the roofs of houses toward the sky,
Or wade with naked feet along the beach
just in the edge of the water,

Or stand under trees in the woods,
Or talk by day with any one I love,
or sleep in the bed at night

with any one I love,
Or sit at table at dinner with the rest,
Or look at strangers opposite me riding in the car,
Or watch honey-bees busy around the hive
of a summer forenoon,

Or animals feeding in the fields,
Or birds, or the wonderfulness of insects in the air,
Or the wonderfulness of the sundown,
or of stars shining so quiet
and bright,
Or the exquisite delicate thin curve
of the new moon in spring;

These with the rest, one and all,
are to me miracles,

The whole referring,
yet each distinct and in its place.

To me every hour of the light and dark
is a miracle,

Every cubic inch of space
is a miracle,

Every square yard of the surface of the earth
is spread with the same,

Every foot of the interior swarms with the same.
To me the sea
is a continual miracle,

The fishes that swim – the rocks –
the motion of the waves –
the
ships with men in them,
What stranger miracles are there?”
Walt Whitman

Scientists have discovered, though, that chronic stress can lead to high levels of inflammation in your body – and set the stage for heart disease, depression and even cancer to develop.

How?

Stress changes the gene activity of your immune cells before they enter your bloodstream. It prepares them to fight infection or trauma – even if there is none to fight. And that causes your inflammation levels to soar.

In a study published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, researchers analyzed the immune cells taken from stressed mice’s blood and compared them to non-stressed mice. They found 3,000 genes in the stressed mice’s immune cells that were expressed at higher or lower levels – and 1,142 of the more highly activated genes played a part in making the immune cells more inflammatory.

Love and Life are the same.

The Breathtaking Beauty of Our Being / Easter Holidays on Friday & Monday

Hidden Valley Golf 008-c

Children feel the breathtaking beauty of being. My friend, Kylee, does!

“Life is not measured
by the number of breaths we take,

but by the moments
that take our breath away”

We are immersed in miracles. Each breath that we take, every second we are aware, every idea we entertain in our minds creates new possibilities for you and I to be truly alive in the next moment. In fact, this very minute is a miracle. But we do not recognize our miraculous presence, because we do not take the time to realize the breathtaking beauty of our being. But our children do! And your child can teach you.

Hidden Valley Golf 010- ALDEN & DOG

The SIGN says it all (Beware!). Lexie will wash your face.

We allow ourselves to become so busy with what becomes our routines and habits and our supposed and artificially contrived priorities, imposed from without and not from within, that the dynamic, colorful and dramatic shades of reality evade our awareness.

To take a deeply refreshing first step back into a blissful awareness of where we are and who we are, I recommend that you consider this: nothing exists without our being conscious of it. Nothing! Physicists are telling us the truth. And it relates to more than sub-atomic particles. What is being discovered relates directly to you and I, and to everything around us.

There is no life without consciousness.”
                                – Annie Besant

And here is an astounding truth: there is beauty everywhere. It is in everything and, as difficult as it may seem at times, in everyone. And when you finally come to this realization, you will start to carefully and thoughtfully look at what is around you, even the minute, even the trivial. And you will discover such bountiful beauty in existence, and suddenly become aware of the special place you have in God’s Universe.

Ian is informed while Townes is stunned!

Ian is informed while Townes is stunned!

Of all things on this earth, He Blessed you and I with the special gift of becoming aware that we are so alive and so beautiful. And here is another unbelievable truth: you can create a state of constant awareness, of fully knowing just how amazing this life is. Yes, it is possible to make awareness of such awesome beauty a permanent condition in life.

Did I say, "stunned"?

Did I say, “stunned”?

I have met people that are blissfully aware, and so have you. They become truly memorable and leave a deep impact upon us. And, yes, they are rare and beautiful.

Bringing such consciousness into our moment by moment existence is possible. But it requires us to slow down, almost like pausing to take your pulse. You may want to try it. Just stop occasionally, throughout the day, and breath deeply and take a long, thoughtful look around you. Find that which you would not normally notice and simply pause long enough to truly study it. It may be a crack in the plaster, a very tiny, intriguing insect (Kylee, always a lady, recently introduced me to a beautiful and very, very tiny Ladybug), a deeply meaningful song or the timeless beauty in the smile of someone you love.

By the way, Kylee was mesmerized, almost put into a trance, by the beautiful, tiny Ladybug – which made me realize that, perhaps, I was missing out on a great part of what life had to offer. (Kylee is only three years of age and one of the most gifted teachers I have met.) Three year olds have an innate ability to teach us what life should be all about. And yes, it is about admiring the astonishing beauty found in nature – in those species we have not yet, in our arrogance and ignorance, brought to extinction. It is truly about being aware of what every three year old loves. There is more wisdom in their wonder than in all our philosophy!

Being consciously aware of what you are doing at any given moment is a good way to relax and calm the mind and be fully present in this moment. When you slow down your mind and make a decision to be consciously aware of what your are doing at this time, and not thinking of another time or place, then you are able to relax and feel peaceful and truly experience your natural state of being. No, the stressed out, exhausted looking, overly anxious, impatient and worn out you, is not really – you! No.

“The only mistake that we can make as human beings
is to be asleep, unaware of ourselves.

                                                – Guy Finley

Most of us, including far too many children, are living life repetitively and dreaming of ways to escape. What a sad waste of the precious gift of life. But we have the power to escape this existence. You possess the ability to change everything in life, and for the better. And, you can start by noticing that life is lived outside of yourself. It truly resides in the smiles found all around, the laughter of friends, the funny things that happen in life and in the love that dwells deep within the hearts of those around you.

“Love is always open arms.
If you close your arms about love
you will find that you are holding only yourself.”

– Leo Buscaglia

Yes, your heart is not your own. It simply will not continue to beat without the love of another. We see such tragedy reflected in the stories of so many millions who ceased to exist without love. Our hearts must belong to someone else.

As Professor Lacey is wont to say "Wonder not for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee."

As Professor Lacey loves to say, “Wonder not for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.”

I’ve discovered over the years, that even if you’re not exactly where you’d like to be, that doesn’t mean that life, right now, can’t be beautiful and enjoyable. And the best part is, you don’t have to do anything to make it beautiful. It is beautiful.

But a great work of art hanging on the wall is not a great work of art at all, if no one ever looks at it. If it doesn’t exist in the heart and mind of someone, it truly doesn’t exist. Nothing exists without our being conscious of it.

So please, just slow down, be in a relaxed state of being, open your eyes and look at things. Look at the people around you. Look deeply into their eyes and into their lives. See what makes them fascinating, interesting, funny, different. Find in them what you have in you. And then make someone else happy and fulfilled, even if for one moment. Lose yourself in that moment. Become a part of their time and their place.

Remember, we are a part of all that exists. We are one. And beauty exists in every moment. But you must look at it, for it to exist.
