For Love Alone / Fruits for Diabetes Patients / Friday: No School (Holiday)

We all share
a Beautiful Light.

It glows
soft as candle Light.
And,
it exists
for Love Alone.

It can never
be seen,
only felt.

“We have seen His Glory,
the Glory of the One and Only…
In Him was Life,
and Life was the Light of men.
The Light shines in the darkness,
but the darkness
has not understood it”
John 1:14 a,4,5

To find answers to our questions
of meaning,

the meaning of this Life,
we are compelled to venture forth
on an exploration of consciousness,
a Philosophical journey

into the mind of the
Heart.

A Love story within a Love story.

Each of us
longs to abandon the Life
we seemingly have led for years,
to embark upon an enthralling
adventure
that few have known –
an adventure that will take us
on a Journey
to the very Heart
of ourselves.

All the while,
we have unknowingly lived
in a Beautifully crafted,

well acted Love story,
within a Love story.
This tale
is of the pursuit of Love

and a passion to truly live this Life,
against all odds.
This story,
is our story,
enfolded within
the Beautiful Story
of God’s Love
for us.

                    Unknowingly.

My Dear Friends,
we are able
to transform the pain of Life
into ecstatic Beauty.
Pain is easy to portray,
but we can use our passion for Living,
and our longing for Love,
to ease our pain,
to portray the ecstasy and the Joy
and the magnificence of our World.

Only when you are lost
can you truly find yourself.

And if you keep looking,
you will find yourself,
in the Love you encounter
through the eyes of
another.

Inevitably we ask,
what should be done

with all the time that lies ahead of us,
open and unsure and unshaped?

Our existential journey
can find us venturing forth
into the great unknown
of the Human Heart
that beats within,
but for another.

               Beautifully crafted.

The way in which we Humans
move in and out of one another’s Lives,
has an unknown and profound effect.
Very much like moments
when the Sundown
pales the sky,
and there’s barely a breath of Life
left in this day.

Yes,
as a thing of Beauty
moves in and out
of our Lives,
the effect can be
profound.

Life is a succession of moments,
when we can discover
all the Beauty
that daily comes and goes.
And,
in discovering this Beauty
in the people all around us,
and in the Beautiful World
that surrounds us,
we come to know
who we are,
and what we really want.

“For the beauty of the Earth,
For the beauty of the skies
For the Love which from our birth
Over and around us lies.

For the beauty of the hour
Of the day and of the night
Hill and vale and tree and flower
Sun and moon and stars of light.

Lord of all, to thee we raise
This our Joyful hymn of Praise
For the Joy of Human Love
Brother, sister, parent, child
Friends on earth and friends above
For all gentle thoughts and mild
Lord of all, to thee we raise
This our Joyful Hymn of Praise
For each perfect Gift of Thine
To our race so freely given
Graces Human and Divine
Flowers of Earth
and buds of Heaven.”
Folliott S. Pierpoint

We can experience
a true feeling of Peace,
that persists even in the reality of our troubles,
that transforms our quiet desperation
into a Beautiful calmness.

Let us thank God
for Life,
and for bringing
the Beauty of Love
into it.
Let us Pray for everyone –
that we may see
the Light of their precious lives
and all the Beauty
that dwells within.

May your dreams become reality,
and may your Life be filled
with God.

Goodnight.

We can.”

Fruits for Diabetes Patients

Kiwi – Kiwi fruit is one of the most nutritious fruit with low glycemic index value ranges from 47 to 58. It is high in fiber and low in carbohydrates, which aids in controlling blood sugar levels and lowering cholesterol. It is a good source of many essential vitamins and minerals such as vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, fiber ,potassium, folates and high amounts of beta-carotene that offer protection from free radicals and improve overall health.

Pears – Pears are one of the best fruit choice for people who have Type 2 diabetes because pears are rich in fiber and low in carbohydrates and calories and have a rating of 38 on the glycemic index value.

Oranges – Oranges are a popular fruit because of their natural sweetness and numerous health benefits. They are low in calories and rich in fiber, vitamin C, thiamin, folate and potassium. Despite their sugar content, oranges have a low glycemic index, ranging from 31 to 51. The low glycemic index is explained by the fact that oranges are rich in polyphenols and fiber, which moderate the rise in blood sugar.

Strawberries – Strawberries are considered as one of the best superfoods for a diabetes meal plan because of its vitamins, antioxidants, dietary fiber, and lower sugar content. Several Studies show that eating strawberries in quantities of at least 2–3 servings per week can lower the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes. Strawberries are high in vitamin C and fibre, and low in carbohydrates and have a low glycemic index at 40.

Avocado – Avocados are low in carbohydrates which means they have little effect on blood sugar levels and rich in fiber, fats and calories. The fats mostly found in avocado are monounsaturated fats, the heart-healthy kind that can keep your blood cholesterol levels under control, and improve heart health. With so few carbohydrates, a high fiber content, and healthful fat, people with diabetes can enjoy an avocado in moderation without the stress of raising their blood sugar levels. One medium-sized avocado daily is good for diabetics.

Grapefruit – Grapefruit is one of the nutritious fruit choice for diabetics because it is high in soluble fiber, vitamins A, vitamin C and low in calories and has a low glycemic index at 25. It also contains flavonoid naringenin that helps diabetics to increase the body’s sensitivity to insulin and helps in losing extra fat from the body and maintain a healthy weight, which is a vital part of diabetes treatment.

Guava – Guava is a highly nutritious fruit choice for diabetes patients because it has a very high amounts of lycopene, dietary fiber and also rich in potassium, vitamin C, vitamin A, calcium and magnesium. Its fruit and tea of its leaves both are beneficial for diabetes patients as many research confirms that eating guava fruit without its skin can reduce the sugar absorption in your blood.

Black Plums – Black plums also known as Jambul or Jamun is the miracle fruit for diabetics. It has low glycemic index, which keeps the blood sugar levels normal. Soluble fibre in plums helps the stomach to empty at a slower rate, which affects blood sugar levels and has a beneficial effect on insulin sensitivity. The fruit helps to convert starch into energy and keep your blood sugar levels in check. It can also cure the symptoms of diabetes including excess urination and thirst. The extract of bark, seeds, and leaves are too beneficial in the treatment of diabetes.

Cherries – Cherries have a lowest glycemic index at 22 and don’t cause spikes in blood sugar levels. This makes cherries as one of the best fruit choice for diabetics. It also contain chemicals that boost insulin, which helps control blood sugar levels. The chemicals are called anthocyanins.

Apples – Apples are an excellent fruit to include in your diet if you have diabetes. The flesh and skin of apples are high in soluble fiber, vitamin C and other antioxidants. Fiber slows down the digestion and absorption of carbs, causing them to not spike your blood sugar rapidly.

So Close That It Is Far Away / New American Plate / Friday: At School ALL Day

Like the Flower
that shatters the
Stone
,
Love can fracture
the Heart
hardened by the absence
of Joy.

Even the most fragile
has the power to overcome
the strongest force.

Love Majestic
in its simplicity,
opens wide the window
of Wisdom.

“Being deeply Loved by someone
gives you strength,
while Loving someone deeply
gives you courage.”
Lao Tzu

To speak
in the present tense,
and live
in this precious moment,
requires us to Love
what is all around,
to regret
not one minute,
and Love
what is in us
and is
us.

Tomorrow can fade to black or rise like a magnificent Rainbow.

Have you ever thought
of home?
When home
is so close,
that it is far
away,
and you
hold on
to your thoughts
so hard
you can never
stay
in the place
of your dreams,
that for which
you Pray.

Put on each day and wear it all day long.

And you pause
to ask,
“Am I
living in the embrace
of memories
never chanced to be?”
The colors
of our dreams
fade
onto sad deserted shores
of such memories
never brought to
Life,
never made.

 Beauty wakes pure authentic feelings.

The greatest threat
we face
is change,
but we cannot
survive
without it.

So put on
each day
and wear it
all day long.
And listen
very carefully
for the night bird
song.
Then give
your troubles
to the song,
not the singer.

There is serenity
in what we partake
with the guidance
of our Lord,
even when we fail
to contemplate
the incomprehensible.

Love opens wide the window of Wisdom.

Think
not on yourself.
Make not a
Stone
of what once was
your Heart.

My Dear Friends,
One

act of Mercy
can free the
Soul.
One fragile Flower
can shatter
the stone.

Tomorrow
can fade to
black,
or rise
like a magnificent
Rainbow.

                       Live in this precious moment.

No matter
where you run,
without the Love
of God,
you keep running
into yourself.
But With
His Precious Love,
God will raise you
Lovingly
above yourself.

Beauty
wakes pure authentic
feelings.
It touches the
Soul.
And the beauty
in your Heart
far exceeds that
of any Flower,
any setting of the Sun,
any sum of the parts
more than the
whole.

                    Love what is all around.

The bitter tragedy
of Human Life
is that it is too fragile,
a transitory, provisional parchment
of living and
being.

Yet,
to be sheltered in the warmth
of Heavenly Grace,
provides a Landscape
laced with Eternal Life
and Lovingness.

                     Beauty touches the Soul.

Let us pause
to reflect
upon our allotted time,
and give
Thanks.
We can shatter
the World of illusion
and become that
which God
truly wants of us:
to become
His Child
again.

Goodnight.

Put on each day and wear it.

“You are a Divine Being.
An all-powerful Creator.
You are a Deity in jeans and a t-shirt,
and within you dwells the infinite wisdom
of the ages and the sacred creative force
of All that is, will be and ever was.”

No single food can prevent cancer,
but the right combination of foods may help make a difference.
At mealtimes, strike a balance of at least
two-thirds plant-based foods
and no more than one-third animal protein.
This “New American Plate”
is an important cancer fighting tool,
according to the American Institute for Cancer Research.

Fruits and vegetables are rich in cancer-fighting nutrients
— and the more color, the more nutrients they contain.
These foods can help lower your risk in a second way, too,
when they help you reach and maintain a healthy body weight.
Carrying extra pounds increases the risk for multiple cancers,
including colon, esophagus, and kidney cancers.
Eat a variety of vegetables, especially dark green,
red, and orange vegetables.

Naturally occurring folate is an important B vitamin
that may help protect against cancers of the colon, rectum, and breast. You can find it in abundance on the breakfast table.
Fortified breakfast cereals and whole wheat products
are good sources of folate.
So are orange juice, melons, and strawberries.

Other good sources of folate are asparagus and eggs.
You can also find it in beans, sunflower seeds, and leafy green vegetables like spinach or romaine lettuce.
The best way to get folate is not from a pill,
but by eating enough fruits, vegetables,
and enriched grain products.

Cutting back on processed meats
like bologna, ham, and hot dogs will help lower your risk
of colorectal and stomach cancers.
Also, eating meats that have been preserved by smoking
or with salt raises your exposure to chemicals
that can potentially cause cancer.

Whether it’s the lycopene
the pigment that gives tomatoes their red color –
or something else isn’t clear.
But some studies have linked eating tomatoes
to reduced risk of several types of cancer,
including prostate cancer.
Studies also suggest that processed tomato products
such as juice, sauce, or paste
increase the cancer-fighting potential.

Green tea, may be a strong cancer fighter.
In laboratory studies, green tea has slowed or prevented
the development of cancer in colon, liver, breast, and prostate cells.
It also had a similar effect in lung tissue and skin.
And in some longer term studies,
tea was associated with lower risks
for bladder, stomach, and pancreatic
cancers.

Grapes and grape juice, especially purple and red grapes,
contain resveratrol.
Resveratrol has strong antioxidant
and anti-inflammatory properties.
In laboratory studies, it has prevented
the kind of damage that can trigger
the cancer process in cells.

Fruit on the Vine / Cancer Dies When You Eat These Five Foods / Pesticide Soaked Fruits and Vegetables / Friday: Museum of the Americas

“Anyone
who does not Love
does not know God,
because God is Love
.”
– 1 John 4:8

                             Today is never over.

The Fruit
of all our Love,
is still hanging
on the Vine.

The Promise of
Evermore
confounds the senses
on the road to Belief.
For we
accept the perceived as inevitable
and think the seemingly impossible
is never
to be.

We live and we trust
that Tomorrow
can Forever be,
and that never,
never more will we see.
Such is the Nature
of Life
longing
to Be,
not fully aware
that from whence
Life came,
and where it will
be,
was ever known.

“For I know
the plans I have for you,

declares the Lord,
plans for welfare and not for evil,
to give you a future
and a HOPE.”
Jeremiah 29:11

And now doubt
can come from
afar
no more.
Our time
is not
our time.
Today
is never really over.
For in Faith,
the Light of Day is
over and over,
again and again.
This Sun
never sets.

“The LORD
will be your permanent source of Light –
the Splendor of your God will shine upon you.
Your sun will no longer set,
your moon will not disappear;
The LORD
will be your permanent source of light;
your time of sorrow will be over.”
Isaiah 60:19-20

Day
is never night.
And night,
is not the Light
of any
day.

“This is the message
we have heard from Him
and declare to you:
God is Light;
in Him
there is NO darkness
at all.”
1 John 1:5

With words
that penetrate
like arrows,
what
would be said
in Love,
we seemingly cannot
say
enough.
What
could be done,
appears
to have already
been done.
And we think
Love
a Song unsung.

His Words will warm and calm you.

But the night
of our lives
awakens to the
dawn.
And
we hear the music
that is
our Life,
a beautiful Song,
we sing our
whole Life
long.

And death,
death never comes
to the end
of this magnificent Song,
the Music
of the Spheres.

God
is in His
Heaven
and in your
Heart.
All
is right
Believing.

For the Light
of His Love
is always
Shinning.

“We Love
because He first
Loved us.”
1 John 4:19

Millions of Angles
are singing,
at the thought
of your Love
bringing
HOPE
to the Heart
of someone
in need.

“Therefore,
since we have been
justified by FAITH,

we have PEACE with God
through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Through Him we have also obtained
access by FAITH

into this Grace in which we stand,
and we rejoice in HOPE of the Glory of God.
More than that,
we rejoice in our sufferings,
knowing that suffering produces endurance,
and endurance produces character,
and character produces HOPE,
and Hope does not put us to shame,
because God’s Love
has been poured into our Hearts
through the Holy Spirit
who has been given to us.”
Romans 5:1-21

His Words
will warm
and calm you.

I Pray
you will share
God’s Love,
in your Lifetime,
beginning today,
when tomorrow
was yesterday.

                     Share God’s Love.

Close your
eyes in Prayer.
Use the dark
to see,
with the Light
of Understanding,
the Eternal Light
of God’s Love,
the bright
of which
never blinds and distorts
you and me.

  Use the dark to see.

My Dear Friends,
there is
always a war
raging.
But it is not
for the ground
upon which you
stand,
the price of which
has already
been paid,
not for the reasons
that surround,
and confound
you.
No,
it is for the Spirit
that dwells
within.
But Fear
NOT.

“The Lord is my Light and my Salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my Life;
of whom shall I be afraid?
When evildoers assail me to eat up my flesh,
my adversaries and foes,
it is THEY who stumble and fall.

Though an army encamp against me,
my Heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me,
yet I will be confident.
One thing have I asked of the Lord,
that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the House of the Lord
all the days of my Life,
to gaze upon the Beauty of the Lord
and to inquire in His Temple.
For He will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble;
He will conceal me under the Cover of His Tent;
He will lift me HIGH upon a rock.”
Psalm 27:1-14

Now,
close your eyes gently
in Prayer.
And know that God
is with you
and Loves YOU,
so much more
than words mere,
can ever share.

“Day is done, gone the sun
From the lakes, from the hills, from the sky
All is well, safely rest
God is nigh.”
Melodious Monk

Goodnight.

                             ALL is well.

Cancer Dies
When You Eat These Five Foods.
It’s Time To Start Eating Them

in Overall Health by

Cancer is many faceted, and generally treated with big pharma products, like chemicals, radiation, and chemotherapy. What if there were foods that naturally killed cancer, though?

Fortunately for you and us, there are. And we’re here to tell you about those foods, including our five favorites, foods which naturally fight cancer cells and help keep them from feeding – and consequently help keep the cancer from growing.

 1. THE BLUEBERRY & RASPBERRY EFFECT

Blueberries and raspberries are plants that are well known by their anti – cancer capabilities, especially when it comes to ovarian cancer. Phytochemicals are the reason why they have their dark hue and the secret of their effectiveness, which are proven to be great for cancer prevention. Furthermore, blueberries and raspberries are also known to have a decreasing effect on oxidative stress and angiogenesis.

2. COFFEE AND GREEN TEA

Besides the fact that both coffee and green tea, are the most popular daily consummated drinks, they decrease the chances of cancer development.

3. THE TOMATO EFFECT

According to recent Harvard research, there is up to 50% reduction in chances for prostate cancer in people who regularly ate cooked tomatoes. It was proven that tomatoes are incredibly effective in inhibiting the angiogenesis, and the reason why this fruit is so effective is that they contain high amounts of a substance called lycopene, which has strong anti – angiogenic properties.

Experts explain that lycopene is easily distributed through the body’s digestion system due to the fact it breaks down in our bodies’ fat. In addition, lycopene concentration increases when it is subjected to higher temperatures. That is why cooked tomatoes are very effective when it comes to stopping cancer growth.

4. DARK CHOCOLATE

For many people this is almost unbelievable. Dark chocolate is an incredibly tasty desert, which also happens to be incredibly healthy to eat, because it is good for you heart condition, your overall happiness, but also for fighting cancer cells.

5. TURMERIC

This plant has various health benefits, and it is well known by the effectiveness in fat reduction, turmeric is also used as a preventive measure against cancer.

The Top Five Pesticide Soaked Fruits and Vegetables

With such a striking level of pesticides on each of these “conventional” produce items, it would be wise to avoid them entirely (even though most people buy them non-organic without second thought):

1. ApplesPerhaps the most notable inclusion on this list is the apple, considering its reputation as a health food, and the lack of organic apple orchards for that matter. The vast majority of apple orchards remain “conventional,” and yet American apples were recently banned in Europe by regulators.

Over 47 pesticide residues were found in conventional apples by the USDA’s pesticide data program in 2010. Doesn’t exactly make for a healthy cup of apple juice now, does it?

 2. CeleryIt may be a negative calorie food but with a total of 64 different pesticide residues found by the PDP in 2008 including 12 different neurotoxins and 10 known carcinogens according to this article from the Center for Food Safety, conventional celery should lose its distinction as a health food. Such chemical cocktails will sabotage your metabolism in the long run, so go organic.

3. StrawberriesPesticides with negative effects on the brain and nervous system have been found in spades on strawberries, with 45 total pesticide residues found by the PDP in 2009.

Organic strawberries are especially pricier but well worth the investment; buy them in season and freeze to save big money.

4. PeachesThe soft skin of peaches combined with the amount of chemicals they’re treated with could spell serious trouble for your health.

A 2008 study by the PDP found 62 different pesticide residues on conventional peaches; several are considered as neurotoxins and/or known carcinogens. While you can wash some of the residue off much of it remains in the soft flesh and skin of the peach.

5. GrapesThe fourth and final fruit on the list, grapes have been found with 56 different pesticide residues as of 2010, including four developmental or reproductive toxins linked to fertility problems and even miscarriages.

That means that wine drinkers should be especially careful not overdo it, especially in its non-organic form.

Final Thoughts:

You can easily find most of these top five most pesticide-laden fruits and vegetables in just about everyone’s kitchen in one form or another, and that’s what makes them so dangerous to our health.

Don’t forget to share this information with your friends who still falsely consider these pesticide-soaked fruits and vegetables to be health foods.

Rosie Jr. and his favorite pillow – my foot.

In order to defeat cancer and ensure there is no recurrence, the body must be brought into balance and the immune system rebuilt and fine tuned. So how is this feat accomplished? Detox and achieve a slightly alkaline pH, while filling the body with the best, organic, nutritionally dense food available. Your goal is to rebuild a killer immune system as you bathe every non-cancerous cell in your body with nutrition. By the way, you can purchase naturally alkaline water – ETERNAL WATER by name – at your local health food store.

Specific foods known to eliminate cancer:

Omega 3

Mrs. Anderson is again busy tutoring students.

Mrs. Anderson is again busy tutoring students.

Oily fish, fish oil, flax seed oil, hemp oil, and healthy oil blend supplements provide omega 3 fatty acids (and other beneficial fatty acids), which fight inflammation and make the body less hospitable to cancer cells. Vitamin D is also known to kill cancer, and you can find many fish oils and some vegan oil blends with vitamin D in them. Personally, I take D3 daily for arthritis. Yes, I have found relief from the pain. Thank you again, Linda Latham, for the compassionate recommendation.

Cruciferous Vegetables

Cruciferous vegetables include broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, Brussel sprouts, watercress, kale, collard greens, cauliflower, bok choy, turnips, rutabagas, radishes, arugula, and more. These vegetables contain sulforaphane and other helpful compounds, which help fight tumors, breast, prostate, brain, and colorectal cancers, as well as leukemia. Broccoli sprouts and mature broccoli in combination really pack nutritional, cancer fighting punch.

Berries

Black raspberries appear to reign supreme, though all berries contain cancer fighting phytonutrients and high amounts of ellagic acid, which inhibit tumor growth.

Maitake and Shiitake Mushrooms

Google maitake mushrooms cancer. Continue your search and study after study reveals they do. Mushrooms boost immune function and are a great source of antioxidants. They are also rich in vitamins C and B vitamins as well as calcium and other minerals.

Tumeric

Curcumin, found in turmeric, inhibits the spread of cancer (metastases) along with its anti-inflammatory and oxidative effects. Tumeric can be found at farmer’s markets in root form. It can be used liberally to spice your food (great on salads or in salad dressing as well as in cooked dishes) with no side effects. Curcumin also comes in pill or tablet form available from your health food store.

Tomatoes

The active compounds found in tomatoes, carotenoids and lycopene (especially lycopene), are very helpful, especially in the fight of prostrate and pancreatic cancer in men. Seven to ten helpings are week are suggested, both cooked and raw juice. To gain the health benefits of juice, make your own. Store bought tomato juice will be pasteurized. Lycopene is a strong antioxidant.

Folate

Egg yolks,  avocadoes,  apricots,  green leafy vegetables, and pumpkin are among the foods rich in folate. For meat eaters, chicken livers are very high in folate. Studies involving folate or its synthetic form, folic acid, show a significant reduced risk of colorectal cancer. Folate or folic acid is essential for the body to correctly replicate DNA.

Garlic

Even the National Cancer Institute admits garlic “…may reduce the risk of developing several types of cancer, especially cancers of the gastrointestinal tract”. Garlic reduces inflammation, fights free radicals, and fights cancer. Eat it raw or chop it up and let it sit for 10-15 minutes before cooking with it or its beneficial compound, allicin, will not be released. Garlic may be purchased in pill or tables form from your health food store.

Mr. Lacey, with our gratitude, is helping with Latin, Greek & Epic Literature.

The compound found in red grapes, resveratrol, is a powerful antioxidant that also saves cells from oxidant-caused death. Grape seeds have huge benefits. We recommend you don’t eat grapes without seeds.

Conclusion

An alkaline, balanced diet with plenty of nutrition, and as few toxins as possible, makes the body inhospitable to cancer. Sugar feeds cancer. Processed and refined foods feed cancer. Raw, organic vegetables, especially when grown for maximum nutrient content (as opposed to large scale farming) should be the foundation of any healthy diet. We also recommend that anyone with cancer undergo a full body detox with a supplement regimen specifically designed for your current state of health.
