From Time to Time, we take a trip to the far reaches of what is in our mind. And at the very edge, something lies patiently in wait. It has always been there, filled with the Light of a bright sunny day, the Peace and quiet meant to stay, and the Love in our Hearts, come what may.
It is a Sacred Place, a very special space from which we will always long to return. And out of the Love that emanates from such precious memories, comes a feeling that cannot be described. and the Song that is our Life, is sung.

Sometimes, there are words spoken in haste, contributing nothing but waste, that we need to forget. They keep spinning around us. If we had the chance to say them again, would we? Could we? Should we?
The absence of desire to say anything to resurrect what should never be, feels like walking through the Meadow on a Beautiful morning, after a gentle evening rain the night before. The Beauty of forgiveness, lies in forgetting.
And removing such sad memories can bring tears of Thanksgiving to your very tired eyes.

Yes, it is amazing what forgiveness can do to our emotions. You canbe taken back to your youth, when Life was so easy. Without the feeling of Forgiveness, Life is light years away, and all our tears turn to dust.
Remembering the Child once we were, is a reflection of how simple and Happy Life can be.

It is easy, to have fun. Spend time with family and friends, and enjoy Life. None of us are here forever. So, make the very best of it. And the Light of Life becomes a Harvest Moon.

It’s a Human sign when things go wrong, when temptation’s strong and we wander into the outer boundary of negativity, and a cold, cold Heart leads our Lives into directions not found on any map.
Passing through such forsaken land, requires just a simple word of Prayer. Ask and you will receive. God will be there.

Did Albert Einstein Humiliate an Atheist Professor?
One of the most troubling conundrums is the question of how evil and suffering can survive in a universe created and managed by a loving Supreme Being.
Claim
While a college student, Albert Einstein humiliated an atheist professor by using the “Evil is the absence of God” argument on him.
Origin
Does evil exist?
The university professor challenged his students with this question. Did God create everything that exists? A student bravely replied, “Yes, he did!”
“God created everything? The professor asked.
“Yes sir”, the student replied.
The professor answered, “If God created everything, then God created evil since evil exists, and according to the principal that our works define who we are then God is evil”. The student became quiet before such an answer. The professor was quite pleased with himself and boasted to the students that he had proven once more that the Christian faith was a myth.
Another student raised his hand and said, “Can I ask you a question professor?”
“Of course”, replied the professor.
The student stood up and asked, “Professor, does cold exist?”
“What kind of question is this? Of course it exists. Have you never been cold?” The students snickered at the young man’s question.
The young man replied, “In fact sir, cold does not exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is in reality the absence of heat. Every body or object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy. Absolute zero (-460 degrees F) is the total absence of heat; all matter becomes inert and incapable of reaction at that temperature. Cold does not exist. We have created this word to describe how we feel if we have no heat.”
The student continued, “Professor, does darkness exist?”
The professor responded, “Of course it does.”
The student replied, “Once again you are wrong sir, darkness does not exist either. Darkness is in reality the absence of light. Light we can study, but not darkness. In fact we can use Newton’s prism to break white light into many colors and study the various wavelengths of each color. You cannot measure darkness. A simple ray of light can break into a world of darkness and illuminate it. How can you know how dark a certain space is? You measure the amount of light present. Isn’t this correct? Darkness is a term used by man to describe what happens when there is no light present.”
Finally the young man asked the professor, “Sir, does evil exist?”
Now uncertain, the professor responded, “Of course as I have already said. We see it every day. It is in the daily example of man’s inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of crime and violence everywhere in the world. These manifestations are nothing else but evil.”
To this the student replied, “Evil does not exist sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is not like faith, or love that exist just as does light and heat. Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God’s love present in his heart. It’s like the cold that comes when there is no heat or the darkness that comes when there is no light.”

He experienced in Nature a Religious Ecstasy. Before the Majesty of Natural Beauty, he found himself humble before the Power of God who Created it all.

The wilderness in the Human Soul
Muir learned to read from the Divine Manuscript, the rocks and the trees. He came to discover complete Freedom, and had experiences that seemed timeless and devoid of space. He felt his body had no weight. “Life seemed neither long nor short,”he wrote, “and we take no more heed to save time or make haste than do the trees and stars.”
He entered the Eternalnow and experienced days that seemed to have neither end nor beginning. John discovered an Immortality, and experienced himself dissolved into the Landscape.

God’s first Temples
Muir experienced the inter-relatedness of all things, the union of rocks and clouds, the Humanness of the Landscape, the wilderness in the Human Soul, a kinship with the wild Nature he grew to Love, a oneness. One of my favorite thoughts from John is this:

Muir wrote of being struck by how clean Nature is. All plants are clean; all animals are clean. Of all the living things on the planet, mankind alone seems dirty.

But the future does not really exist.

12 Truths About Living In an Illusion by Vernon Layne
Here are twelve common truths that you’re living in an illusion:
1.You see the present through your past. Your past plays an important role in your life. It’s there to teach you what you could have done differently or what you need to continue doing. THAT’S ALL. It’s not there for wallowing in or condemnation. We fall short of His Glory so it’s important you learn to give yourself a break. Let go of your past and not become its prisoner then it will be easier for you to put things in its proper perspective.
2.You believe you can control things that are uncontrollable. Stop trying to control people and situations. One of life’s most important lessons is learning to give up the illusion of control. You may wonder how you suppose to give that up, but the fact is you were never in control. The moment you think you’re in control is the moment you’re out of control.
3.You only see the bad in yourself and others. If you ask someone to list things about themselves most will list liabilities. People have a hard time seeing the good within themselves. Not finding the good in you makes it impossible to see the good in others.
That’s why it’s important to take a complete self-assessment and list your access along with your liabilities and accept what you find. When you do this everyone wins. You win because you begin to grow and others win because they are encouraged to grow from watching you.
4.You believe everything you feel and think. Imagine being judged inaccurately by two people who don’t know you. Believing everything you feel and think is just like listening to two people gossip. Your feelings aren’t facts. Don’t believe everything you think and feel because they can influence you to make unwise decisions. Learn to make decisions from facts and not feeling.
5.You search for fulfillment through things. The only person you can’t run away from is yourself. There’s nothing wrong with trying to get things in life but don’t lose yourself in the process by not understanding why you’re doing it. When the chase for things becomes more important than your family and your health, then it’s a destructive rush that’s causing harm. Most of the time you’re trying to fill a void or block a feeling when you’re searching for fulfillment in things.
6.Your self-worth comes from social media. All your life you wanted to belong and fit in, so you spend a lot of time on social media– yet never quite measuring up. The more likes you get the better you feel. The reality you need to hear and afraid to admit is when you’re not getting those likes you think you should be getting, you feel down almost depressed. Depending on social media to feel relevant is an illusion many people believe.
7. You think your happiness is your mate’s responsibility. It’s not fair to your mate when you expect them to be responsible for your happiness. They’re there to add to your happiness. It’s your responsibility to see that you’re happy. It’s not healthy and it doesn’t work when one partner isn’t responsible for his own feeling, thoughts and actions. A healthy relationship is when a couple can grow in unity while at the same time growing as individuals, so take ownership of your own happiness.
8. You’re convinced everything supposed to go your way. Self-centeredness is at the core of self-deception. It can create an illusion that you’re right and the world is wrong base on a feeling or an idea. You began to see yourself as a victim. Understand that everyone experiences life challenges and that you’re not the only one. To see things clearly bring your attitude in line with reality.
9.You think you don’t need help. Most people, myself included, believed at some point in their life that they could do it all by themselves. This kind of thinking doesn’t work very well. The only guarantee you will get is being frustrated and exhausted.
We are here to help and support one another. Your life will be enhanced when you’re able to see people as a gift from God. Take the time and get to know the gifts God have given you by learning to trust others, reaching out to others, and admitting your need for others.
10.You believe you can’t change. It’s important to examine this false belief because it may not be yours. You could have picked it up from your parents. I know this may sound a little harsh but some parents tell their children self-defeating things. Not all illusions come from you. Some are created by others.
11. You think your success is because of the work you’ve done. Don’t become a legend in your own mind. As you begin to experience success in life it’s important to give credit where credit is due. Selfishly claiming what belongs to God is the quickness way to lose it all. Pride usually comes before the fall so give the Glory to God.
12. You feel you’re alone. I call this the ultimate illusion. The next time you’re by yourself look around you. Feel the air. Go outside and watch the squirrels chase each other. Look up and see the clouds move gracefully. God’s presence is all around you. You are never alone.

Is the water that you drink and bathe in healthy? If you are on a community water system the US government requires them to publish a CCR (Consumer Confidence Report) or Annual Water Report and make it available to the public. If you get water from a private or shared well, you will need to test your own water. There are a broad range of solutions for filtering contaminants out of your water so that you and your family can receive the healthiest water possible. The first step is finding out what is in it.
Following is a list of common concerns and filtration strategies for each. Disease due to waterborne contaminants can be transmitted on foods that have been washed in tap water, by breathing in the spray such as in a shower or near a decorative fountain, or by direct consumption. Common contaminants found in the water supplied to indoor environments include but are not limited to: Microbial, Inorganic (includes lead, asbestos), Organic (other than microbial), and Pesticides and Herbicides.
Microbial contaminants include living organisms, such as bacteria, parasites, and algae, as well as viruses (viruses are not considered to be alive because they cannot reproduce without a host cell –your own cells, for example). While waterborne disease are most prevalent in developing countries, the United States and Canada are seeing an increase in the occurrence of waterborne disease associated with viruses and parasites, one prominent example being Legionella bacterium, which can cause a serious pneumonia-like infection. The only home filter systems capable of filtering down to the viral size range are the reverse osmosis or ultra filtration-type membranes, or ceramic filters. It should be noted that activated carbon filters can become a breeding ground for bacteria and hence should never be used on a source of water that is not bacteria free.
Inorganic contaminants are elements not bound to carbon and hydrogen. The term inorganic includes metals (and their alloys, like iron, copper, aluminum, brass, bronze), minerals (such as salt, asbestos, silicates, arsenic, fluoride) and mineral-based chemicals and non-metallic elements, like silicon, phosphorus, arsenic, lead, fluoride, and chlorine. Some metals are necessary trace nutrients for our metabolic biochemistry, but can become toxic in too high a dose, such as Chromium, Copper, and Selenium. Other metals are toxic only, such as Lead, Arsenic, Beryllium, Cadmium, Thallium, and Mercury, with no known safe level in the body. The best means known to remove inorganic contaminants from water is reverse osmosis.
Organic contaminants are those which have a bond between a carbon atom and a hydrogen atom (CH), and include microorganisms and manmade organic compounds. Many of them are naturally occurring organic chemicals, and innocuous. The organic chemicals we consider water contaminants are man-made, synthetic chemicals such as solvents, petroleum-based chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, and PCBs. Since the 1930’s, production of synthetic organic chemicals has increased almost exponentially, and only a relative handful of them are directly regulated via the Safe Drinking Water Act.
Organic chemicals have been dumped into our surface waters by industrial plants since manufacturing began. This dumping, coupled with the constant runoff of agricultural chemicals into surface waterways, has led to our present situation where almost all fresh water shows some signs of organic pollution. The sole answer for removal of most synthetic organic chemicals is activated charcoal. Probably the best overall scheme for protection is to have a large capacity activated charcoal filter at the point of water entry into the house, with an additional stage of reverse osmosis for drinking and cooking water.
Pesticides and Herbicides are a subset of synthetic organic chemicals that deserve special attention as water contaminants. Mostly petroleum based, these chemicals started finding widespread use in the 1940’s, and the first warning signs were not evident until the early 1960’s when scientists began to realize that many of these chemicals are very long-lived in the environment, and cause harm to wildlife well beyond their intended targets. Since these compounds can actually become concentrated in the fat cells of animals from their food sources, they ultimately end up in us too. For example, even though DDT has been banned for decades, it can still be found in the breast milk of new mothers. These chemicals get into our water from agricultural runoff, spraying on private residential lawns and golf courses, aerial spraying for bug control, and countless other means. The most effective means of removal for pesticides, herbicides, and other synthetic organic chemicals is reverse osmosis. Activated charcoal filters can also be very effective at removing pesticides, but they have limited capacity and need to be maintained diligently.
The World Health Organization states that 80% of infectious diseases worldwide are waterborne. If your tap water has not been filtered by the processes cited here above, you are likely drinking, cooking, washing your food, and bathing with contaminated water. It is worth noting that viruses and single-celled parasites are resistant to extermination by chlorine, itself a contaminant, which is usually the first line of defense in most parts of the United States against microbiological contaminants.

1. Beta carotene This precursor of Vitamin A is found in most orange and green vegetables such as carrots, sweet potatoes, spinach, kale, and other leafy green vegetables. An amazing nutrient, it has been shown in research to protect the lungs against toxins that are linked to lung cancer.
A study found that ex-smokers who ate green and yellow vegetables high in beta carotene daily decreased their risk of stomach and lung cancer.
2. Vitamin B6
This B-Vitamin is essential to maintain a healthy immune system and helps protect the respiratory tract from pollution and infection. In studies it has helped protect against cervical cancer. Vitamin B-6 is primarily found in carrots, apples, organ meats, bananas, leafy green vegetables, and sweet potatoes.

Another sixty-one patients with other kinds of cancer followed the same regime, while thirty-one patients received no vitamin supplements and served as the control group. The control group lived an average of 5.7 months. Of the others, 80 percent of the patients with cancer of the breast, ovary, uterus, or cervix had a mean survival time of 122 months; patients with other forms of cancer lived an average of 72 months. That translates into a length of life 13 to 21 times longer in those who used vitamin therapy.
4. Folic Acid In studies, folic acid, also known as folate or vitamin B9, helps protect against cervical cancer and is necessary for the proper formation of the body’s own genetic material – DNA and RNA. It is found in beets, cabbage, dark green leafy vegetables, eggs, citrus fruits, and most types of fish.
5. Vitamin E In addition to protecting against bowel cancer, Vitamin E works as a powerful antioxidant that reduces the damage caused by ozone and pollutants on the cells. It is found in eggs, wheat germ, liver, unrefined vegetable oils, and dark green vegetables.

These positions in broadcasting
enabled me to work my way through College.
How well I remember
listening to Richard report on the
assassination of President John Kennedy
while tearfully sitting in the High School Library.
His compassionate reporting
inspired me enter the broadcasting profession.
And
when the precious Mother of Don and Billy Graves
asked that I become the Scoutmaster of Troop 57 in Abilene,
since no one was available,
I requested my friend Richard to serve in that capacity until
I became old enough to qualify.
Richard, with me as his Assistant, gladly did so.
Don and Billy continued their Scouting experience
along with many, many others.
And today,
I am very proud of the Rev. Donald Graves,
of the Center for Spiritual Living in Tucson,

which appears to form
the horizon
of destiny,
in the wink of an eye

The singular moment
in which we live,
in which we dwell,
is adrift
in a vast Ocean
of Love.
As we experience Life
seeping from the veins
of our awareness,
we may come to know
that we do not live
in a void,
but in the illusion of shades
of darkening and light.
Our lives are
a form of shadow
that give me visibility
to see myself,
enabling me
to see me,
there,
where I am not.
Looking back

a forward view
into the mist

The seeming constancy of being

From beautifully crafted music we weave together a tapestry of thought and reflection that brings meaning to our lives and fosters understanding of the world around us. We are all in need of finding within ourselves some significant degree of unity with the seemingly incomprehensible stage upon which we play.
The writers of song are the poets and philosophers of our day. Their innermost thoughts can provide a lamp post for the mind that pervades the darkness of our narrow dwelling here on earth. I am grateful to these gifted artists who, with no small measure of courage, reveal the innermost depths of their hearts for the benefit of us all. So please allow me to share a tapestry of their love and understanding, that in blending together, forms a clearer understanding of the greatest quality of being that we can have for ourselves and our beloved children.

From the exquisite song, Suzanne (Link) by Leonard Cohen, we find a deeply meaningful message:
“There are children in the morning. They are leaning out for Love, And they will lean that way forever.”
Yes, our children, all of our children, will today and forever be, “Leaning out for Love”. Sometimes we fail to understand the behavior of our children, when their message of love becomes entangled with other things that we do not love. We do not recognize that what we are bearing witness to is not the real message our children truly wish to convey, a message they struggle to share in their every thought and deed.
Alden wants a dozen of these beauties.
A good time was had by all.
Our gaze has strayed from looking at the compass of our hearts and, instead, seeks to look far down the pathway of life ahead.
And in so doing, we lose our direction. And sometimes, we lose our way. And in trying to find our way back home, we look everywhere, but in our own hearts. And then, we are startled to discover that we are suddenly lost – set adrift upon a vast, seemingly endless sea, with no sight of the shore.

We are here, in this time and space, neither yesterday or tomorrow. But forgiveness may be found on this day, and it shall remain with you forever. Drop-off will be at the Museum at 10:00 a.m. Pick up will be at the MUSEUM at 2:30 p.m.

Students are NOT to leave the Museum or restaurant at any time for any reason, including the need to secure a ride, go off to war & whip the Yankees (which also requires a uniform, powder and gun) or use the restroom, without the approval of Dr. or Mrs. Anderson.
MUSEUM RULES
* No loud talking, running, or jumping or one of the new Anderson school staff will get you. (They are ALL ex-school principals. Notice their threatening gaze searching for any sign of misbehavior!)
* Stay with your chaperone at all times. If Dr. A seems jittery, he has had enough! Just offer him coffee with extra cream and allow him to quietly mutter incoherently to himself.
* Use clipboards for worksheets. Do not lean or write on exhibit display cases or walls or, you guessed it, Dr. A.
* No food, drink, candy, or gum is allowed inside. Give these items to Dr. A. He knows what to do with them.
* The museum has video surveillance & alarms so don’t be alarmed and please smile.
They reserve the right to refuse service and rough up those who do not wish to follow the rules of conduct. Now, there are exceptions and one of them is Dr. A. He is a good guy and won’t remember the rules, and he already looks roughed up.
