    Remembering all the Beauty

A River
of Precious Memories
flows through our Hearts.
And we are kept adrift
by a gentle breeze
of Love,
that fills the Sails
of Time.

But somewhere
time will
stand still,
while waters
of the River of Life
continue to fill our days
and ebb and flow
reaching high tide
to renew our ways.

“He who believes in Me,
 ‘From his innermost Being
 will flow rivers
of living water.'”
John 7:38

Such beautiful memories,
lovely and peaceful
like the flowing melody
of Sacred trickling water,
express what words
cannot say,
as they lift our Spirits
toward the Heaven
of a new Day.

My Dear Friends,
in beholding
the Magnificence and Grandeur
of our Sacred Reflections,
our cherished moments
frozen in fragments of time,
we are awe-inspired
by what is left,
what, in our mind, survives,
in remembering all the Beauty
that has surrounded
our lives.

Lovely and peaceful, like a flowing melody.

How humble and thankful
we should be,
that we are so
deeply Loved,
we were never blinded
by what we
could not see.

The Light
of awareness
is the dawn
of rebirth.

Rebirth and Renewal
encompass us all the time.
It is in every aspect of our Being
and in everything that surrounds us.

In the Natural World,
it is the Natural Order
of things.
It reminds us
of our strength, our resilience,
our rebirth,
so that we can survive
the storms of our Life
and
Blossom once again.

There comes a time
when reflective thought
leads us to know,
that the deep regrets of the past
become totally irrelevant
to Tomorrow –
when you allow
the Holy Spirit
to replace regret
with Reverence.

“Love will abide,
take things in stride.

Sounds like good advice
but there’s no one at my side.

And time washes clean
love’s wounds unseen.

That’s what someone told me,
but I don’t know what it means.”

Tomorrow

it is the Dawn

My Friends,
we can never be found
in the darkness
we endure,
only in the Light
we search for.

Taker and giver,
accuser and transgressor,
now and not never,
or forever and ever,
the frailties of our Humanity,
can set us
adrift upon a violent sea
of a Life devoid of Love,
deprived
of even
the will to be.

But in the sweet
by-and-by,
Love profuse enough
to fill the Heart’s Treasury,
can find us
adrift upon a lake
of Beautiful Memory.

In the Light we search for.

For,
by the very Breath of God,
a gentle breeze fills the Sails
of our yearning,
as we cross over
the great divides of Life,
with the Compass
of His Compassion.

As we traverse
the Earth,
we fly in the sky
at times, it seems,
with unearthly Visions
and Dreams.

Our Earth
is a source of Life,
not a resource.
More than the firmament
beneath our feet,
it is the ground
of our Being,
a Gift from God,
to treasure
and to keep.

And Prayer
is the Pathway
of our own
Spiritual Journey,
leading to inner Peace
and timelessness.
.
The greatest Gift
is
Life itself.

And to be possessed
of Love,
is
to be possessed of Life,
and hear the lovely,
peaceful flowing melody
of everything
God wills for
YOU.

You can feel the Power of Love
in the Hope
that God will hear you
when you turn to Him.

The fact that all the conditions

And so are
YOU.

Is the water that you drink and bathe in healthy? If you are on a community water system the US government requires them to publish a CCR (Consumer Confidence Report) or Annual Water Report and make it available to the public. If you get water from a private or shared well, you will need to test your own water.  There are a broad range of solutions for filtering contaminants out of your water so that you and your family can receive the healthiest water possible. The first step is finding out what is in it.

Following is a list of common concerns and filtration strategies for each. Disease due to waterborne contaminants can be transmitted on foods that have been washed in tap water, by breathing in the spray such as in a shower or near a decorative fountain, or by direct consumption. Common contaminants found in the water supplied to indoor environments include but are not limited to: Microbial, Inorganic (includes lead, asbestos), Organic (other than microbial), and Pesticides and Herbicides.

Microbial contaminants include living organisms, such as bacteria, parasites, and algae, as well as viruses (viruses are not considered to be alive because they cannot reproduce without a host cell –your own cells, for example). While waterborne disease are most prevalent in developing countries, the United States and Canada are seeing an increase in the occurrence of waterborne disease associated with viruses and parasites, one prominent example being Legionella bacterium, which can cause a serious pneumonia-like infection. The only home filter systems capable of filtering down to the viral size range are the reverse osmosis or ultra filtration-type membranes, or ceramic filters. It should be noted that activated carbon filters can become a breeding ground for bacteria and hence should never be used on a source of water that is not bacteria free.

Inorganic contaminants are elements not bound to carbon and hydrogen. The term inorganic includes metals (and their alloys, like iron, copper, aluminum, brass, bronze), minerals (such as salt, asbestos, silicates, arsenic, fluoride) and mineral-based chemicals and non-metallic elements, like silicon, phosphorus, arsenic, lead, fluoride, and chlorine. Some metals are necessary trace nutrients for our metabolic biochemistry, but can become toxic in too high a dose, such as Chromium, Copper, and Selenium.  Other metals are toxic only, such as Lead, Arsenic, Beryllium, Cadmium, Thallium, and Mercury, with no known safe level in the body. The best means known to remove inorganic contaminants from water is reverse osmosis.

Organic contaminants are those which have a bond between a carbon atom and a hydrogen atom (CH), and include microorganisms and manmade organic compounds. Many of them are naturally occurring organic chemicals, and innocuous. The organic chemicals we consider water contaminants are man-made, synthetic chemicals such as solvents, petroleum-based chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, and PCBs.  Since the 1930’s, production of synthetic organic chemicals has increased almost exponentially, and only a relative handful of them are directly regulated via the Safe Drinking Water Act.

Organic chemicals have been dumped into our surface waters by industrial plants since manufacturing began. This dumping, coupled with the constant runoff of agricultural chemicals into surface waterways, has led to our present situation where almost all fresh water shows some signs of organic pollution. The sole answer for removal of most synthetic organic chemicals is activated charcoal. Probably the best overall scheme for protection is to have a large capacity activated charcoal filter at the point of water entry into the house, with an additional stage of reverse osmosis for drinking and cooking water.

Pesticides and Herbicides are a subset of synthetic organic chemicals that deserve special attention as water contaminants.  Mostly petroleum based, these chemicals started finding widespread use in the 1940’s, and the first warning signs were not evident until the early 1960’s when scientists began to realize that many of these chemicals are very long-lived in the environment, and cause harm to wildlife well beyond their intended targets.  Since these compounds can actually become concentrated in the fat cells of animals from their food sources, they ultimately end up in us too.  For example, even though DDT has been banned for decades, it can still be found in the breast milk of new mothers. These chemicals get into our water from agricultural runoff, spraying on private residential lawns and golf courses, aerial spraying for bug control, and countless other means. The most effective means of removal for pesticides, herbicides, and other synthetic organic chemicals is reverse osmosis. Activated charcoal filters can also be very effective at removing pesticides, but they have limited capacity and need to be maintained diligently.

The World Health Organization states that 80% of infectious diseases worldwide are waterborne. If your tap water has not been filtered by the processes cited here above, you are likely drinking, cooking, washing your food, and bathing with contaminated water. It is worth noting that viruses and single-celled parasites are resistant to extermination by chlorine, itself a contaminant, which is usually the first line of defense in most parts of the United States against microbiological contaminants.

For a more thorough understanding of drinking water purity in homes, schools, and commercial buildings, we encourage you to download the syllabus for our annual 5-day seminar IBE 211 Indoor Air & Water Quality, by clicking here.

Life lived simply, is simply Beautiful.

Love is just a Dream
by another name.
What the Heart feigns
to be something other,
remains the same.

Narrow streets
have we wandered down,
seldom looking up
to see the Pure Light
of Love,
the Light
of God’s Love
glowing in the dark.
And in our memory,
His Love,
is streaming from
Heaven Above.

God gives sight to those
blinded by the night

they are so deeply

The simple things in Life are the most extraordinary.

Wisdom
is in the wind,
whistling through the
trees,
faint and simple sounds
birthed in memories:
a long stroll in the park
walking hand in hand
with someone you deeply Love,
dinner
that sparkled
by the light of a single
candle that flickered
in the dark of night,
a laughter filled
Heart,
an evening
with no ending
and no start,
a beautiful smile
that still glows
in the dark,
and parting
with such sweet sorrow
and a very kind
remark.

Life lived simply,
is simply Beautiful.

To dream our lives

thrown on fields

They were planted in

Vitamins that help protect against cancer

the world’s largest community for good

By: Michelle Schoffro Cook

The best way to beat cancer naturally is to adopt a lifestyle to prevent it. Healthy, nutrient-rich food is an essential part of any anti-cancer plan.  Here are the top 5 vitamins that help protect against cancer.

1. Beta carotene
This precursor of Vitamin A is found in most orange and green vegetables such as carrots, sweet potatoes, spinach, kale, and other leafy green vegetables.  An amazing nutrient, it has been shown in research to protect the lungs against toxins that are linked to lung cancer.

A study found that ex-smokers who ate green and yellow vegetables high in beta carotene daily decreased their risk of stomach and lung cancer.

 2. Vitamin B6

This B-Vitamin is essential to maintain a healthy immune system and helps protect the respiratory tract from pollution and infection.  In studies it has helped protect against cervical cancer.  Vitamin B-6 is primarily found in carrots, apples, organ meats, bananas, leafy green vegetables, and sweet potatoes.

3.  Vitamin C
One of the most well-researched nutrients, Vitamin C has shown great promise in the fight against cancer, both in prevention and disease-management.  A recent study was conducted in which forty patients with cancer of the breast, ovary, uterus, or cervix received large doses of ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) and other vitamins.

Another sixty-one patients with other kinds of cancer followed the same regime, while thirty-one patients received no vitamin supplements and served as the control group.  The control group lived an average of 5.7 months. Of the others, 80 percent of the patients with cancer of the breast, ovary, uterus, or cervix had a mean survival time of 122 months; patients with other forms of cancer lived an average of 72 months.  That translates into a length of life 13 to 21 times longer in those who used vitamin therapy.

4. Folic Acid
In studies, folic acid, also known as folate or vitamin B9, helps protect against cervical cancer and is necessary for the proper formation of the body’s own genetic material – DNA and RNA.  It is found in beets, cabbage, dark green leafy vegetables, eggs, citrus fruits, and most types of fish.

5. Vitamin E
In addition to protecting against bowel cancer, Vitamin E works as a powerful antioxidant that reduces the damage caused by ozone and pollutants on the cells. It is found in eggs, wheat germ, liver, unrefined vegetable oils, and dark green vegetables.

Our Dreams Have Wings / Thank You Richard Fletcher / Important Dates

Dedicated
with my deep admiration
and sincere appreciation to
Richard Fletcher.
While in Boy Scout Troop 17
many years ago,
Richard gave countless hours
of patient counseling and friendship
to this very lost young man
at the time in life
when it was most needed.
He encouraged, guided and enabled me to
enter broadcasting and I become host of the
Bill Anderson Music Show at KSTB radio
and Announcer and News Director at KWKC radio,
Co-Host of the Curtis Stone Soul Show,
(I will share more on this eye opening/awakening chapter later)
and Announcer and Host of the
On The Line” talk show simulcast over
KFMN-FM, KACC and KBLE in Abilene.
These positions in broadcasting
enabled me to work my way through College.

How well I remember
listening to Richard report on the
assassination of President John Kennedy
while tearfully sitting in the High School Library.
His compassionate reporting
inspired me enter the broadcasting profession.

And
when the precious Mother of Don and Billy Graves
asked that I become the Scoutmaster of Troop 57 in Abilene,
since no one was available,
I requested my friend Richard to serve in that capacity until
I became old enough to qualify.
Richard, with me as his Assistant, gladly did so.
Don and Billy continued their Scouting experience
along with many, many others.

And today,
I am very proud of the Rev. Donald Graves,
of the Center for Spiritual Living in Tucson,
who delivers powerful messages in dynamic ways:
“God is all there is,
so we are by nature a part of God,
filled with and surrounded by God.”

We dressed up                for the stock show!

From beautifully crafted music we weave together a tapestry of thought and reflection that brings meaning to our lives and fosters understanding of the world around us. We are all in need of finding within ourselves some significant degree of unity with the seemingly incomprehensible stage upon which we play.

The writers of song are the poets and philosophers of our day. Their innermost thoughts can provide a lamp post for the mind that pervades the darkness of our narrow dwelling here on earth. I am grateful to these gifted artists who, with no small measure of courage, reveal the innermost depths of their hearts for the benefit of us all. So please allow me to share a tapestry of their love and understanding, that in blending together, forms a clearer understanding of the greatest quality of being that we can have for ourselves and our beloved children.

Sia fell in love with a rabbit.

Sia found a Rabbit she loves.

From the exquisite song, Suzanne (Link) by Leonard Cohen, we find a deeply meaningful message:

“There are children in the morning.
They are leaning out for Love,
And they will lean that way forever.”

Yes, our children, all of our children, will today and forever be, “Leaning out for Love”. Sometimes we fail to understand the behavior of our children, when their message of love becomes entangled with other things that we do not love. We do not recognize that what we are bearing witness to is not the real message our children truly wish to convey, a message they struggle to share in their every thought and deed.

Alden wants a dozen of these beauties.

Alden wants a dozen                  of these beauties.

A good time was had by all.

A good time was had by all.

Our gaze has strayed from looking at the compass of our hearts and, instead, seeks to look far down the pathway of life ahead.

And in so doing, we lose our direction. And sometimes, we lose our way. And in trying to find our way back home, we look everywhere, but in our own hearts. And then, we are startled to discover that we are suddenly lost – set adrift upon a vast, seemingly endless sea, with no sight of the shore.

Allow me to introduce the stunningly beautiful thoughts, found within the of lyrics of “Heaven on Earth” by Spadecaller, with music by Thomas Newman:

“That Next Place”
(click here to listen to this song)

“Beyond the turbulence of anguished thought
We found this special place within
,
Where pride intrudes not on the soul of love,
Imposes not on another’s Sacred Journey,
Respects humbly the right to be wrong,
Accepts silently the right to be right,
Awaits not for the wrong to be righted.”

We found this special place together
After the turbulence of anguished thought faded,
After the vexations of bitter hearts perished,
After surrendering yesterday’s regret,
After giving away tomorrow’s worry,
After the allure of Utopian dreams,
Drove us to our knees
in Forgiveness.”

I told you, it's a school for the creative!

This inexplicable creature was found roaming the halls. Hey, it’s a school for the creative!

We are here, in this time and space, neither yesterday or tomorrow. But forgiveness may be found on this day, and it shall remain with you forever. For your forgiveness to be moment by moment, will find you to be forgiven. Then the love you sought to share shall remain embedded in the heart of your child forever.

“The weak can never forgive.
Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.

– Mahatma Gandhi

Uniform pants with a belt & red monogrammed school shirt are required. Polish your shoes, the rebels are recruiting this week. This fabulous museum can be enjoyed by the entire family,

Students are NOT to leave the Museum or restaurant at any time for any reason, including the need to secure a ride, go off to war & whip the Yankees (which also requires a uniform, powder and gun) or use the restroom, without the approval of Dr. or Mrs. Anderson.

MUSEUM RULES
* No loud talking, running, or jumping or one of the new Anderson school staff will get you. (They are ALL ex-school principals. Notice their threatening gaze searching for any sign of misbehavior!)

* Stay with your chaperone at all times. If Dr. A seems jittery, he has had enough! Just offer him coffee with extra cream and allow him to quietly mutter incoherently to himself.

* Use clipboards for worksheets. Do not lean or write on exhibit display cases or walls or, you guessed it, Dr. A.

* No food, drink, candy, or gum is allowed inside. Give these items to Dr. A. He knows what to do with them.

* The museum has video surveillance & alarms so don’t be alarmed and please smile.

They reserve the right to refuse service and rough up those who do not wish to follow the rules of conduct. Now, there are exceptions and one of them is Dr. A. He is a good guy and won’t remember the rules, and he already looks roughed up.
