No Greater Gift / Toxicity of Sugar / School starts Sept. 6 (When it’s COOLER!)

road

Walking
through a forest of memories,
finds my feet
following my thoughts.

My Precious Friends,
Existence
is a real accomplishment today,
given the complexity and difficulties
we have mindlessly
imposed upon ourselves
and our children.

Today
children in our society
are withdrawing in ways
that are unfathomable,
unreal to their victimized parents.
They are leaving this world
in the only way
they feel they have left.

reflection2

WE are at WAR
with ourselves.
And the first to fall
on the front line of this war
are the very fragile
children of all ages –
the most sensitive,
the most caring,
the most vulnerable,
the most Loving.

Suicide in the United States
has surged to the
HIGHEST levels in nearly 30 years,
a federal data analysis has found.
The overall suicide rate
rose by 24 percent from 1999 to 2014,
according to the
National Center for Health Statistics.
The rate rose by 2 percent a year
starting in 2006,
double the annual rise
in the earlier period of the study.
Researchers also found
an alarming increase among girls 10 to 14,
whose suicide rate had tripled.

             What do you see?

Recent research paints a picture
of desperation
for many in our conflicted society.

We have allowed the focus
of precious lives
to be
upon material things
that really
do not matter
and lead to unreal expectations,
unrealistic desires and wants
and dire consequences.

But,
you know what is causing the tragic loss
of our most precious possession,
our beloved Children.
You know!
Just look around you.
What do you see?

sun M

              Simplicity itself

The focus in life
is upon things that
create horrendous consequences.
Things like things.
Like competition,
DRUGS  and  alcohol,
unreal and unrealistic
expectations.
Things like
PERFECTIONISM
reflected in highly subjective
and unnecessary
test scores and grades,
behavior modification drugs,
CONFORMITY at ALL costs,
and
creativity squelching uniformity
in our land of
what we think is the
FREE.

setting

The focus
is upon everything
but our children.

The great Truths
in Life
are simple.
They are as simple
as simplicity itself.

My Dear Friends,
allow me to offer a few
that may help you
along this troubled way:

Simplicity
keeps the mind
from tripping over itself.

Beauty,
directs our journey
to Love
and Loving Life.
And it is found in everything,
if you look for it.

Love
is Life.
and it is found everywhere,
even in your Heart,
if you look for it.

Forgiveness
is freedom

and it is free,
if you ask for it.

Prayer
is communion with One
who deeply Loves you.
Keep it simple.
Say, “Thank You”.
And then,
open your eyes.
You will not have enough time
on this Earth
to count all the Blessings.

red flowers

Beauty directs our journey to Love.

Let’s keep it simple.
Turn off the television,
turn OFF the computer.
Life is not a game.

Go for a walk
with your child
and your DOG.
Take the dog,
he knows the way –
to your Heart.
Take some bread crumbs
for your child
to give to the birds.
They know the way –
to a pesticide free
world.
Take some smiles.
They know the way,
to whatever
your Heart desires,
and they too are free.
Take some stories,
they show the way –
the paths
that led you
to this day.

a_106

                     Look for it.

And on this day,
the Loving pathway
you follow
with your child
by your side,
and this time,
this precious time
you spend together,
will forever
keep you side by tiny side,
in Heart,
in Spirit,
in Mind.

Any pathway
you follow together,
your child
from that path
shall never stray.

a_093

In the Light of Forgiveness, there is no shadow.

And tomorrow,
when two roads diverge,
in a land of uncertainty
and fear,
in that tomorrow that is
all too near,
your child will follow
the path
you took with him or her.
The way of tomorrow
is the joy
you share today.

The story of your Life,
begins and ends
with you.
The pages
are turned by the smiles
you share
with everyone you see.

Thiswhyc

Take the dog. He knows the way – to your Heart.

If you die today,
what do want your child
to know?
What you deeply desire
is not written
in a book.
It is found
only in your eyes,
in a look,
found
in the time it took
to say
I Love You.
In a place
called today.

The greatest Gift
you shall ever receive
is the Gift of Life,
the Gift of Love,
embodied in your Child.
This precious Gift
is wrapped in the
Sunshine of Love.
Open your eyes
that you may
truly see,
no greater Gift
will there ever be.

bird 3

    Be always Homeward Bound.

Call your grown up child,
if you have one.
It doesn’t matter if he or she
is twenty or thirty or forty or more
years of age.
Ask that precious child
“Would you like for me
to read you a bed time story again?
Would you like to go
for a walk in the park?
Would you like for me
to push you in the swing again?
Would you like for me
to just hold you
and sing you a song?
Expect tears.
My Dear Friends,
what every child wants
is simple,
it is YOU.

YOU 2

The ONLY Gift a child truly wants is YOU.

When your child cries,
the tears
belong to you.

Be always
Homeward Bound.
Steer your thoughts,
your Heart,
your smiles,
your telephone calls,
your dreams,
and your car,
or if simplicity prevails,
your bike or your buggy or your wheelchair
or the legs upon which to walk,
in their direction.

mom and child

         Keep it SIMPLE.

The greatest Gift,
the ONLY Gift
a child truly wants
is YOU.

Every day
is a special day.
Every day
is a holiday.
Every single day
your child needs someone.
And that someone is
and always will be
you.

Our horrendously complex problems
have simple solutions.
If they are not simple,
they will add to the problem.

Divorce rates have risen,
leading to increased social isolation.

Please remember,
our children are very, very fragile,
and so are you.

We are more than Human eyes can ever see.

What
will abide,
If no one
is by your side?

To keep Life truly simple
do not judge
others.
And most importantly,
we need not judge
ourselves.
We need not to judge,
or be judged.
When we judge ourselves,
we attempt to see
what others see.
And they will never see
the beautiful Heart
that beats within.
Others look at shadows
cast dark and deep,
over the ground upon which
we tread momentarily
in search of
Infinity.

They know not,
and neither do we,
the Heart bathed
in tears,
washed clean
of all sin
by the Love of God
that resides within,
the Precious Love
of Divinity.

We are far more
than Human eyes
can ever see.
Far, far more
than this Life
will allow to be.

We are,
all and everyone,
the Children of One
willing to forgive,
if we are but willing
to ask.

“Do not judge,
and you will not be judged.
Do not condemn,
and you will not be condemned.
Forgive,
and you will be forgiven.
– Luke 6:37

In the Light of Forgiveness,
there is no shadow
cast over you and me.
No one is left
to judge,
not you,
not your Father
in Heaven Above,
and not me.

The Spirit of a truly benevolent heart
speaks to us from beyond this life.
In the wisdom of Leo Buscaglia
we find the answer to every question:

“To live in love
is life’s greatest challenge.”

Let us live in Love,
Simple,
Non judgemental,
Life saving
LOVE.

Goodnight.

sugar

According to Dr. Edward Group, founder if the Global Healing Center, sugar consumption has steadily risen in recent years and the USDA now reports that the average American consumes around 150 pounds of sugar per year.

Sodas are a major source of refined sugars in the American diet. Energy drinks are close behind, and even fruit juices are working against us. Don’t let the word “fruit” fool you. Some of these fruit drinks are stripped of all nutrients and have more additives and sugar (as much as 90%+) than soda.

                           Sugar Has Many HIDDEN Sources
Around ¼ of the American diet is comprised of refined sugars, and when you take a look at the foods available at most supermarkets, this fact is hardly surprising.

Grocery store shelves are littered with junk foods – some of which are disguised as being healthy – that contain massive amounts of sugar. In fact, some prepackaged sports foods, like energy bars, contain more sugar than a candy bar! What’s more, many foods contain hidden sugar, or sugar that is masked by other names such as high fructose corn syrup, dextrose, and sucanat. read more

High fructose corn syrup was not introduced into the food industry to improve health. In reality, high fructose corn syrup costs less than actual sugar because it is much sweeter than sugar. Food manufacturers use less and earn more. It really is all about the money.

Studies have consistently shown that the consumption of high fructose corn syrup seriously damages the health of vital organs, including the brain. One of the most shocking health effects of high fructose corn syrup is its possible link to Alzheimer’s disease and other neurological disorders. The sweetener is often laced with mercury.

The corn industry is spending millions of dollars to keep the science hidden from public view, spreading half truths to protect their hidden agenda: profits. The bottom line is that the bottom line trumps health in the food industry.

Yes,
we are at war
with ourselves.

Medical researchers from all over the world gathered in Madrid late last year at the 11th annual European Nutrition Conference in order to discuss the final results of the five year-long Identification and prevention of lifestyle and Diet induced health Effects In Children and infants (IDEFICS) study.

What was their overall conclusion? Increased physical activity, reduced time in front of television and computer screens, and getting a better night’s sleep, were the most important steps parents could take to ensure their children maintained a normal healthy body weight.  read more

Unstoppable and powerful movement

We are all aware
of near death experiences.
But,
there are other awakenings
that are, perhaps,
similar,
or maybe, the same.

These all too rare moments
come when we glimpse
what it is like
to be fully alive,
totally aware
of Life
and what it is offering.

Sometimes the door to Life
is opened
because death or near death
makes us aware
of just how precious this Life is.

sun M

Glimpse what it is like to be fully alive.

These experiences
may be viewed
not just as out of body
or out of mind.
They can be realized
as moving from being unmindful
to clarity of thought,
from hesitation of action
to unstoppable and powerful movement
forward in Life.

This takes place
when TWO Hearts merge,
when two minds meet
and refuse to part,
when two moments collide,
and the momentum of each
propels BOTH forward
at a speed equal to more
than two individuals
could ever contemplate.

In perhaps,Harry
what is the most beautiful song
of Life’s dependence
upon Love,
“Without You”
Harry Nilsson,
expresses what a only
a Human Heart can say:
“I can’t live
if living is without you.
I can’t give anymore.”

In reading the lines
of these insightful words,
we see the Infinity of Human Love,
that it is more than
a number squared.
One Heart and one Heart
is far more
than two.
Love is
an Infinite number.

When your Love
for another
stops time itself,
a new Life begins.

Yes,
Life can begin again.
And you
can fully live it,
be beautifully in the moment,
trusting
it shall never end.

Do not sacrifice
even one precious moment
of the Beautiful Gift
that is you.

When the Love of God is read
in His Holy Word,
His Love for you
will be lifted from the pages
of your Life,
and felt
in the beat of your precious
Heart.

To be
nearer my God to Thee,
is to be
in Love
now and forever,
fully alive
and FREE.

a Gift of Love.

will ever be given
than God’s Gift

Cancer supplements, herbs, vitamins,  plant extracts with potential anti cancer activity:

There are countless herbs that have been found to have anti-tumor activity in laboratory studies. Whether these herbs and dietary supplement have a role to play in cancer treatment or prevention in humans is not clear at this time. Even if they do, the appropriate dosage and best way to use them is not well known.

However, if your doctor approves, you could try some of these herbal and nutritional supplements.

There are numerous reports of cancer preventive activity of dietary botanicals, including cruciferous vegetables such as cabbage and broccoli, allium vegetables such as garlic and onion, green tea, citrus fruits, soybeans, berries, and ginger, as well as medicinal plants. Several compounds, such as genistein (from soybeans), lycopene (from tomatoes), brassinin (from cruciferous vegetables), sulforaphane (from asparagus), indole-3-carbinol (from broccoli), and resveratrol (from grapes) are being tested.

Berries and berry extracts such as acai, black or red raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, noni, and wolfberry have numerous anticancer compounds. Be sure they are ORGANIC to avoid the pesticides.

Broccoli vegetable and broccoli sprout extract are excellent options.

Curcumin may help fight breast, colon, and prostate cancer. Researchers have found in the lab that curcumin can enhance the cancer-fighting power of treatment with TRAIL, a naturally occurring molecule that helps kill cancer cells. TRAIL stands for tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand. In an experiment with human prostate cancer cells in a laboratory dish, the combination treatment killed off two to three times more cells than either treatment alone. Curcumin exerts multiple different suppressive effects on human breast carcinoma cells in vitro.

Carotenoids show a prominent role in decreasing the incidence of various cancers.

Vitamin D has an important role to play in prevention. Cancer rates are different at different latitudes of the globe. Rates of breast, colon and ovarian cancer are lower in sunnier regions of the world than in Northern climates where cold winters limit people’s sun exposure. Sunlight triggers the synthesis of vitamin D in the skin, and people who get little sun exposure tend to have lower stores of the vitamin. More than three-fourths of people with a variety of cancers have low levels of vitamin D, and the lowest levels are associated with more advanced cancers

Green Tea has polyphenolic compounds such as EGCG that are protective against various forms of cancer.

Graviola fruit, also known as soursop, grows in the Amazon jungle and some of the Caribbean islands. See graviola cancer latest research, a web site that is updated regularly.

AHCC – Active Hexose-correlated Compound – is a mushroom extract that has been tested as an immune enhancing, liver protective and anti-cancer agent.

Ashwagandha has many compounds that have been found to have activity against lung, colon, breast, and central nervous system tumors.

Calcium D Glucarate is a natural supplement.

Cat’s Claw extracts exert a direct anti-proliferative activity on MCF7 breast cancer cell lines. Cats-Claw supplements can improve quality of life in those with advanced tumors.

DIM-Diindolylmethane supplement is another good option. See current research on this supplement at diindolemethane dim web site with the latest studies.

Indole 3 Carbinol is available as a supplement. See Indole3Carbinol I3C  for more information.

Mangosteen has powerful xanthones. As of 2011, I am not aware of human studies with mangosteen in the prevention or treatment of cancer.

Milk thistle contains silymarin and other flavonoids that have been found to have anti-tumor action in bladder and prostate cancer cells.

Noni fruit juice contains a polysaccharide-rich substance called Noni-ppt with anti-tumor activity.

Reishi mushroom water soluble extracts inhibit colon tumors in mice. Reishi may be helpful in advanced-stage cancers and has shown activity against prostate cancer cells.

Agaricus mushroom has been studied as a mushroom extract cancer treatment.

Resveratrol shows promise in neuroblastoma and breast cancer.
Integr Cancer Therapy. Efficacy of Antioxidants as a Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) in Combination With the Chemotherapeutic Agent Doxorubicin. Resveratrol and curcumin have the potential to be clinically applied to prevent cardiac toxicity and hand-foot syndrome and enhance the anticancer efficiency of Doxorubicin.

Maitake mushroom is often used in Japan

Calcium mineral has been associated with a lower risk of colon cancer, so has vitamin D.

IP-6, Inositol hexaphosphate, is a naturally polyphosphorylated carbohydrate found in beans, brown rice, corn, sesame seeds, wheat bran, and other high fiber foods. IP-6 has been reported to have in vivo and in vitro anticancer activity against numerous tumors, such as colon, prostate, breast, liver, chronic myeloid leukemia, and rhabdomyosarcomas. Significant human trials are lacking and hence we do not currently know whether taking IP-6 supplements is helpful in cancer prevention or therapy.

Melatonin, a pineal hormone, is a potent antioxidant and has been shown to inhibit estrogen-responsive human breast cancer cells and augment the effectiveness of tamoxifen.

Supplements that may be helpful for those on chemotherapy:
Carnitine improves fatigue in those who are undergoing chemotherapy.
Glutamine supplementation can lessen loss of protein in the muscle and protect immune and gut-barrier function during radio-chemotherapy in patients with advanced cancer. Glutamine supplement may also be helpful for mucositis induced by cancer treatment.
SAM-e may have a protective effect in cancer chemotherapy-induced liver toxicity, do not use more than 100 mg a day.

CoQ10
Improved survival in patients with end-stage cancer treated with coenzyme Q10 and other antioxidants: a pilot study.J Int Med Res.
This pilot study evaluated the survival of patients with end-stage cancer who received supplements of coenzyme Q10 and a mixture of other antioxidants (e.g. vitamin C, selenium, folic acid and beta-carotene). During a period of 9 years, 41 patients who had end-stage cancer were included. Primary cancers were located in the breast, brain, lungs, kidneys, pancreas, esophagus, stomach, colon, prostate, ovaries and skin. The median actual survival was 40% longer than the median predicted survival.

Additional Herbs and compounds:
Celery seed extract
D Glucarate supplement
Indole-3-carbinol supplement
Mistletoe herb
Morinda citrifolia extract
Sulforaphane, found in broccoli and Brussels sprouts, slows the growth of human breast cancer cells in the lab. It disrupts the action of protein ‘microtubules’ within the cells, which are vital for the success of cell division. It also has effects on detoxification enzymes that can defend against cancer-promoting substances.

Why Transferring Credit Card Balances
Is Brilliant

By Allison Franceour
July 8th 2015

Credit card issuers are in such fierce competition these days to attract new customers that most have started offering sweetheart deals to win you over, like ultra-long 0% introductory APR interest periods. By transferring your balance onto one of these cards, you immediately stop all interest charges during the introductory period (which is a LONG time).

For example, the BankAmericard offers 18 months at 0% APR, so during that entire 18 month intro period, you pay nothing in interest on any balance transferred. That could literally result in thousands of dollars in savings, and is simply a no brainer. With these offers out there, it just makes absolutely no sense to continue to pay high credit card interest on your current balances. Come on folks, wake up!

Well, without further ado, here are the very few cards offering great balance transfer specials: The Cards Which Not Only Don’t Charge, But Actually   – – – PAY YOU. – – –

Hey, take advantage of them for a change.

These are the very BEST deals I have found! Why not MAKE MONEY rather than pay exorbitantly high interest rates. Save the money and put it into a savings account for the kid’s college fund. Trust me, you will need the money then. By the way, when your introductory period is up, transfer the balance to another great offer. They are always out there.

Chase Freedom Card: 15 Months of 0% Intro APR, 1% Cash Back Rewards Program, $100 bonus. No annual fee.

Citi Double Cash Card: 15 Months of 0% Intro APR, 2% Cash Back Rewards Program. No annual fee. read more

Freezerless Refrigerator

refridg

My Dear Friends,
I am not a salesman for Sears. But, the Kenmore freezerless all-refrigerator is designed to operate efficiently in unheated locations with ambient temperature as low at 10 degrees Fahrenheit. You can place this refrigerator in a cold garage or basement without worrying that your fresh foods will freeze. Believe it or not, Eskimos buy refrigerators to keep food from freezing!

But this is what I especially like about it: it is a freezer with the thermostat set above freezing. The end result is that it is especially well insulated (to be a freezer) and saves money in electrical costs. We have one at the school (actually, our second model designed like this). We have no real need for a freezer at school and do not waste electricity to bring the temperature down to well below freezing. It is something I wanted to share with you.

And please, pass along your ideas to help each other. I will be glad to post them on this weblog. And LET ME HEAR FROM YOU. I need to know what you think, how you feel about this weblog. What are you interested in reading about?

Hey, were all just friends and family.

And we are more family than you were aware of. Geneticists have discovered that we ALL originated in heart of Africa, and from one female. In 1987, a group of geneticists published a surprising study in the prestigious journal Nature

Yes, geneticists concluded that every person on Earth right now can trace his or her lineage back to a single common female ancestor who lived around 200,000 years ago. read more

The scientists named this common female ancestor Mitochondrial Eve. Isn’t it interesting that they would name her EVE.

Science and Theology are quickly merging – becoming ONE. The story that one has told is the story the other is telling.

Just as we are: ONE!

May God
always abide with you

and show you the way
to discover the Joy
hidden deep inside
your precious Heart.
Yes, my friend
It is there.

The Strong, Silent Voice / Life And Love Are The Same / New Car Show

sunset 1When evening blisters crimson
And carries life away,
It teaches someone, somewhere,
About Love.

Death teaches that,
The death
Of someone you Love.
Unbearable loss
Teaches us that,

When we feel the Eternal Warmth,
The endlessness of Love,
The infinite emptiness of time,
When we listen
To the Strong, Silent Voice
Of Abiding Love.

Worlds of deep silence
Step Into a void,
Fade into oceans of endlessness.

Then the sound of your heart,
Beating so slow,
To the midnight pace,
Whispers a song,
Alive with Love,
Deep in the shadows
All day long.

Yesterday was a dreaming thing.
I dreamed so deeply
I forgot it was a dream.

So alive it seemed,
Its memories born
Of vibrant, living things,

That played, made me happy,
And lived in wonder,

That never grew weary and died.

And so it seems
I learned a thing,
Death can birth Life.

Life can return
To your heart.
It can live again,

Awaken in you,
Deliver you,
In remembrance of
How precious it has been.

Yes, your heart
Can be reborn,
In a new day,
In a new way,
In death,
In loss.
Even the death
Of a small animal,
A loving companion,
A truly joyful and very good friend.

My friend Kirby’s life,
And death
,
Reminds my heart
To forgive the person
Who took her so very far away,
Removed her from my arms,
Stole so many tears from my eyes.

Her precious memory
Reminds me to Love
Every second,
Every sound,
Each silent moment,
Every one,
Every living thing,

To cherish
Every Gift from God.

Thank You.

    Thank You.

“It isn’t easy.
It doesn’t count if it’s easy.
It’s the hardest thing, forgiveness.
Maybe that’s where
Love and Justice
Finally meet.”
– from Angels in America

Life and Love

My friends, today we stand on the eve of destruction of everything God holds precious. Nations stand armed with weapons of total annihilation, against other nations. And we must ask: Is there really any hope? I believe there is. For a Divine Spark resides within each of us. And it is vibrantly alive in us and alive in our children.

Science is engaging.

     Science is engaging.

The tragic errors of judgment made by the leaders and followers of some, have set societies adrift and in opposition to each other.

Now, with tattered sails of logic, no anchor of common sense and only ill winds to steer their course, they are set to crash upon rocks of horrendous and unimaginable discontent and horror. This nightmare seemingly will go on and on and on, until one day, no one will be able to utter the word, “On”.

Dad is coming to grips with the mad scientists his daughter has become.

Dad is coming to grips with the mad scientist his daughter has become.

Are reasonable people to assume this has no end, but the end? Is Salvation for all never to be realized, countenanced by the Grace of Forgiveness?

Perhaps Bob Dylan was right in his poetic and thought provoking inquiry:

“How many times can a man turn his head,

pretending he just doesn’t see?”

With the tragedy of so much hate living inside us, will Love ever guide us? Are we never to embrace others and circumvent such sad discourse?

There were many strange creatures on the loose.

There were many strange creatures on the loose at Ripley’s Believe It or Not.

Can we not envision lifting ourselves from this night, upward toward the light of compassion? Are we not made in the Image of God?

In my time over many years, I found so many parents who are supportive and compassionate toward everyone in need. They never denied the assistance requested for others and their children. And I often wondered, if such dynamic love and compassion could ever be harnessed to prevent war. And in my prayers, I wonder if raising a child today, being such a daunting and seemingly impossible undertaking, is closely related to the difficult complexities of achieving world peace? Perhaps.

Just having fun.

        Just having fun.

My friends, it is becoming more and more difficult to cope in this world. Every passing day is evidenced by so many children unable to survive what is rapidly evolving into an overly complex and incomprehensible future. We are witnessing a massive and rapidly growing modality of self-destruction. We may no longer be able to fathom a depth of perspective. We have evolved into what is the equivalent of a terminal disease of our society. With drop-out, drug and alcohol addiction and suicide rates so unbelievably high and accelerating, it leads me to ask, Why?

One of our most gifted and prolific poets and writers of song, Neil Diamond, mirrors the question in a lilting and reflective way:

Some people got to laugh.
Some people got to cry.
And some people got to make it through
By never wondering why.

I believe the answers will never come from without. They shall only come from within. No, we will never cognitively know the answers. History has shown that we are not capable of thinking deeply enough to intuit the solutions. Intellectualizing has brought about very poor results. But we can feel compassionately and deeply for others. We can empathize. There are very real answers and they will come only from you and your children, and from deep within. They will come from the heart.

And the creepy costume winner is: Travis

And the creepy costume winner is: Travis

My friends, by the millions our children are not surviving.

The elements of our frighteningly advanced society are placing more and more demands upon the shoulders of our unsuspecting parents. And with technology advancing and accelerating at a pace that is seismic in scope, what shall we expect?

If you want to see the results, just watch the evening news. The plethora of violence and death is stunning. It overwhelms our ability, or that of our children, to even comprehend. We become numb, desensitized, uncaring, because we are just human. We were not created, not designed as human beings, to cope with such.

Is that Dr. A? NO! Maybe in another life!

Is that Dr. A? NO! Maybe in another life!

In a recent visit with a friend about the sad state we are in, I was asked, “And what is Justice?” What is one people, one nation, or even one person, to do about the injustice inflicted by one upon the other? This appears to be the cause of so much of the tragic history, the many wars, we have been in sufferance of.

I reflected many hours upon this question. And, in my final moments one evening, I opened up the New Testament of Jesus Christ. And in that instant it became clear to me that the answer is so evident that it has become obscure.

Jesus, while in agony and unimaginable pain and literally nailed to a bloody Cross, showed us that the highest form of justice that can be revealed is forgiveness. I cannot imagine our failure to forgive others left to their own devices and judgment and placed into a virtual survival modality by circumstance and poor leadership.

Some scholars opted for a new wax hand.

I was going to give Rylee a hand. But she already got a new one – in wax.

Today, as we are witness to see how the circle of life will turn, let us behold the fullness of the Grace of God in our judgment of each other. I wait to see whether the courage to be compassionate guides us in our Sacred Mission to uphold the beautiful Ideals to which we aspire or whether we succumb to the innermost frailties of misconception and hate and bigotry and fear.

I ask on behalf of our precious and Sacred children, that we forgive each other, that we forget the past. I ask this knowing full well that it is much to ask. All people, of all nations, of every faith and ever belief, need our deep compassion. They need what has been so absent during a time of greatest need.

Who is that in a brand new 57 Chevy?

Who is that in a brand new 57 Chevy?

My friends, you are a beautiful person of worth. Everyone is a child of God. And what resides deeply imbedded in our hearts needs to be truly admired. It needs to be explored. It needs to be shared.

In the wisdom of Leo Buscaglia, we find the answer to every question:

“To live in love
is life’s greatest challenge.”

Let us live in Love, or we shall not live at all. Life and Love are one. They are, my friends, the same.

“Let there be peace on earth
And let it begin with me.
Let there be peace on earth
The peace that was meant to be.
With God as our Father
Brothers all are we.
Let me walk with my brother
In perfect harmony.

The Breathtaking Beauty of Our Being / Easter Holidays on Friday & Monday

Hidden Valley Golf 008-c

Children feel the breathtaking beauty of being. My friend, Kylee, does!

“Life is not measured
by the number of breaths we take,

but by the moments
that take our breath away”

We are immersed in miracles. Each breath that we take, every second we are aware, every idea we entertain in our minds creates new possibilities for you and I to be truly alive in the next moment. In fact, this very minute is a miracle. But we do not recognize our miraculous presence, because we do not take the time to realize the breathtaking beauty of our being. But our children do! And your child can teach you.

Hidden Valley Golf 010- ALDEN & DOG

The SIGN says it all (Beware!). Lexie will wash your face.

We allow ourselves to become so busy with what becomes our routines and habits and our supposed and artificially contrived priorities, imposed from without and not from within, that the dynamic, colorful and dramatic shades of reality evade our awareness.

To take a deeply refreshing first step back into a blissful awareness of where we are and who we are, I recommend that you consider this: nothing exists without our being conscious of it. Nothing! Physicists are telling us the truth. And it relates to more than sub-atomic particles. What is being discovered relates directly to you and I, and to everything around us.

There is no life without consciousness.”
                                – Annie Besant

And here is an astounding truth: there is beauty everywhere. It is in everything and, as difficult as it may seem at times, in everyone. And when you finally come to this realization, you will start to carefully and thoughtfully look at what is around you, even the minute, even the trivial. And you will discover such bountiful beauty in existence, and suddenly become aware of the special place you have in God’s Universe.

Ian is informed while Townes is stunned!

Ian is informed while Townes is stunned!

Of all things on this earth, He Blessed you and I with the special gift of becoming aware that we are so alive and so beautiful. And here is another unbelievable truth: you can create a state of constant awareness, of fully knowing just how amazing this life is. Yes, it is possible to make awareness of such awesome beauty a permanent condition in life.

Did I say, "stunned"?

Did I say, “stunned”?

I have met people that are blissfully aware, and so have you. They become truly memorable and leave a deep impact upon us. And, yes, they are rare and beautiful.

Bringing such consciousness into our moment by moment existence is possible. But it requires us to slow down, almost like pausing to take your pulse. You may want to try it. Just stop occasionally, throughout the day, and breath deeply and take a long, thoughtful look around you. Find that which you would not normally notice and simply pause long enough to truly study it. It may be a crack in the plaster, a very tiny, intriguing insect (Kylee, always a lady, recently introduced me to a beautiful and very, very tiny Ladybug), a deeply meaningful song or the timeless beauty in the smile of someone you love.

By the way, Kylee was mesmerized, almost put into a trance, by the beautiful, tiny Ladybug – which made me realize that, perhaps, I was missing out on a great part of what life had to offer. (Kylee is only three years of age and one of the most gifted teachers I have met.) Three year olds have an innate ability to teach us what life should be all about. And yes, it is about admiring the astonishing beauty found in nature – in those species we have not yet, in our arrogance and ignorance, brought to extinction. It is truly about being aware of what every three year old loves. There is more wisdom in their wonder than in all our philosophy!

Being consciously aware of what you are doing at any given moment is a good way to relax and calm the mind and be fully present in this moment. When you slow down your mind and make a decision to be consciously aware of what your are doing at this time, and not thinking of another time or place, then you are able to relax and feel peaceful and truly experience your natural state of being. No, the stressed out, exhausted looking, overly anxious, impatient and worn out you, is not really – you! No.

“The only mistake that we can make as human beings
is to be asleep, unaware of ourselves.

                                                – Guy Finley

Most of us, including far too many children, are living life repetitively and dreaming of ways to escape. What a sad waste of the precious gift of life. But we have the power to escape this existence. You possess the ability to change everything in life, and for the better. And, you can start by noticing that life is lived outside of yourself. It truly resides in the smiles found all around, the laughter of friends, the funny things that happen in life and in the love that dwells deep within the hearts of those around you.

“Love is always open arms.
If you close your arms about love
you will find that you are holding only yourself.”

– Leo Buscaglia

Yes, your heart is not your own. It simply will not continue to beat without the love of another. We see such tragedy reflected in the stories of so many millions who ceased to exist without love. Our hearts must belong to someone else.

As Professor Lacey is wont to say "Wonder not for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee."

As Professor Lacey loves to say, “Wonder not for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.”

I’ve discovered over the years, that even if you’re not exactly where you’d like to be, that doesn’t mean that life, right now, can’t be beautiful and enjoyable. And the best part is, you don’t have to do anything to make it beautiful. It is beautiful.

But a great work of art hanging on the wall is not a great work of art at all, if no one ever looks at it. If it doesn’t exist in the heart and mind of someone, it truly doesn’t exist. Nothing exists without our being conscious of it.

So please, just slow down, be in a relaxed state of being, open your eyes and look at things. Look at the people around you. Look deeply into their eyes and into their lives. See what makes them fascinating, interesting, funny, different. Find in them what you have in you. And then make someone else happy and fulfilled, even if for one moment. Lose yourself in that moment. Become a part of their time and their place.

Remember, we are a part of all that exists. We are one. And beauty exists in every moment. But you must look at it, for it to exist.

The Japanese have a special saying for older people – “Living Treasures”. Respect for the Aged Day (Keirō no Hi) is a Japanese holiday celebrated annually to honor elderly citizens every September.

The mark of any civilized society is how it cares for its young people and its elderly. And this concept, considering and valuing our older, experienced and knowledgeable citizens as treasures is missing in America.

Michael is ready for battle.

Michael is ready for battle.

My friends, we need a clearer vision. Let’s follow the beautiful example offered by the Japanese culture and value and celebrate our living treasures. Grandparents, fathers, mothers, aunts and uncles have a lifetime of fascinating stories to share with their children and grandchildren.

Not only are their life stories and achievements invaluable to their families, they are important to us as a nation and our collective response towards aging. Older people are the beautifully woven tapestry of living history. They are a true treasure. They are the gold reserves of the Nation. And this gold mine is, essentially, unrecognized and, sadly, unappreciated.

Thinking of them reminds me of Mrs. A. When asked when she plans to retire she responded, “I think they are going to have to carry me out feet first. Until then, I will be here doing what I love, teaching.”

Are you a living treasure yourself ? Don’t leave all those precious

memories tucked away in your head. Isn’t it time you recorded your life story. Please do so, for the sake of your family and your country. Find something to record your precious words – a camera, tape recorder, even pencil and paper. Or perhaps, start a website and surprise your family by beginning with the beginning – chapter one – your earliest thoughts, remembrances, and emotions. Here is a great place to pass on the legacy of your life! Share the meaningful, funny and truly significant stories. And let those you love, and many others, know how much you love them.

Amid the clamor of technological and economic success, a reverence for age, custom, and tradition endures in Japanese culture. And it should also be valued here, in this country.

We don't explain them. We just train them.

We don’t explain them. We just train them.

There are approximately 70 Japanese officially designated as ”The Living Treasures”. They are elderly men and women. Click here for more.

These are women and men in recognized fields who have been designated by the Japanese government as “Bearers of Important Intangible Cultural Assets” are often referred to as “Living National Treasures” or “Ningen Kokuho” coined from the term “national treasure” which was found in a 1929 law.

At the Anderson School, we treasure everyone. And we especially treasure the most valued citizens and educators. Several of our teachers retired years ago. And they enable and enlighten our students with their personal insights and philosophy of life and living garnered from many years of valuable experience.

I am always anxious to meet older and wiser minds still willing to share the vast wealth of their knowledge and their love of life. Are you one these? If so, let me hear from you.

It has become a tradition for students to place a price tag on me at the annual Fossil Mania Show in Glenrose. Prices have ranged from 1 cent to 25 cents, which proves that I am no longer worth less than a “plug nickel”. But last Fall Natalie, known for always telling the truth, placed a tag on my back that said, “Priceless”.

Folks, the knowledge and experience you have gained from a life-time of living and loving life is also, “Priceless”. Pass it on!

The Nature Center is located just inside the city limits of Fort Worth. It is a hidden jewel, a wilderness comprised of forests, prairies, and wetlands reminiscent of how much of the Fort Worth once looked. Replete with native flora and fauna, the area beckons to those searching for a piece of nature to refresh their spirits and reintroduce a measure of tranquility.

Over 3600 acres, the center is one of the largest city-owned nature centers in the United States and offers residents and visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the natural history of north central Texas.
