The Love That Lives Within / Music Therapy to Treat Depression in Children / Friday: Please See Printed Notice Tomorrow

When the Winds of Compassion
blow Lovingly and gently through us,
what we were,
is no more.

Love,
in a single act of Caring,
in one moment of sharing,
gives birth from nothing that was,
to something that lives on and on
in the Sacred Ground
of the Human Heart.

Transformed
into Loving memory,
it restores, sustains, nourishes
what now is,
and will always be.

The Beauty
in a Loving moment
is not in the moment.
It is in us.

Life
offers us only a few
precious moments
to share the Beauty
of our Love.

And
as we embrace the Beauty
which lies within,
we discover that
WE
are our own happiness,
our own Joy.

In a single moment,
the Universe exploded into being,
and set into motion
the birth of everything known
and unseen.

In another moment,
you
can create
an entire Universe of awareness,
of Joy,
of Life,
in the Heart of another.
And in so doing,
breathe Life
into your own Being.

Breath of Life
released by one
is inhaled by another.
And so it is with Love.

What we give
is received.
Our breath is one.
Our Life is one.
And Love,
Love is one.

And we are one
with the Love
of God.
.
“And the Lord God
formed man of the dust of the ground,
and breathed into his nostrils
the breath of Life;
and man became
a living Soul.”

Genesis 2:7

If we could but know,
that every Child is ours,
that every Child is us.
That we are all Sacred Children
of God. .
.

Our Children
are of our Love.
Our Lives
are of the far reaches
of Forever.
And our sins
made of what is given,
to be Forgiven.
.
“For by Grace
you are saved through Faith,
and this is not from yourselves,
it is the Gift of God.”
Ephesians 2:8-9

Many
speak of the incredible Joy
of Salvation
from the clutches of sin,
of the Amazing Grace of God.
.
.
“The frontiers

of the Kingdom of God
were never advanced
by men and women
of caution”

Judi Harbin

Our awareness
of all the Joy
that God desires for us,
will magnify the Love
that lives within
the Compassion
we have for each other.

The contented Heart
is never apart,
never alone,
and always in need.

Goodnight.

“The Heart
can only bear just so much Beauty:
it then has to seek relief
from overwhelming emotions
that would break
a weak Heart.”

David Solomon

Music therapy can be used to treat depression in children
read more

Evidence has shown that music therapy can address people’s physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs by either creating, singing, moving to, and/or listening to music.

A recent study conducted at Queen’s University Belfast has revealed that music therapy can effectively treat depression in children and adolescents dealing with emotional, developmental, and behavioral problems. “This study is hugely significant in terms of determining effective treatments for children and young people with behavioral problems and mental health needs.”

Professor Sam Porter, lead researcher from the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Queen’s University, said in a statement.

Queen’s University
researchers in partnership with the Northern Ireland Music Therapy Trust recruited 251 children and young people with emotional, developmental, and behavioral problems to participate in a study that lasted from March 2011 to May 2014.

Researchers split the sample into two groups, including 128 who received usual care for depression and 123 who received music therapy as well as usual care. The group of children and young people who received musical therapy were able to increase their self-esteem, improve their communicative and interactive skills, and reduce depressive symptoms compared to those who only received usual care.

Follow-ups conducted after the study concluded found that the positive result of music therapy had long-term effects. Researchers are currently collecting data to determine how cost-effective music therapy is compared to other forms of depression treatment. “Music therapy has often been used with children and young people with particular mental health needs, but this is the first time its effectiveness has been shown by a definitive randomized controlled trial in a clinical setting,” said Ciara Reilly, chief executive of the Northern Ireland Music Therapy Trust.

According to the National Institutes of Mental Health, around 11 percent of adolescents exhibit symptoms of depressive disorder before the age of 18. Current treatment methods include costly antidepressant medications and psychotherapy.

The Food and Drug Administration recently placed a “black box” warning label on all antidepressant medications over an increased risk for suicidal thinking.

“The findings are dramatic and underscore the need for music therapy to be made available as a mainstream treatment option,” Reilly added.

“For a long time we have relied on anecdotal evidence and small-scale research findings about how well music therapy works. Now we have robust clinical evidence to show its beneficial effects.”

More Fragile Than We Think / Affirmative Prayer / Friday: At School (Shakespeare Production)

“Love is a fruit
in season at all times,

and within reach
of every hand.”

Mother Teresa

Unbeknown
to the population at large,
Suicide
is the second leading cause of death
for college students.

My Friends,
there is absolutely NOTHING
worth more than the precious Life
of your child.
Not a rule, or a law, an academic standard,
highly subjective grades on a report card,
an unrealistic expectation,
a dream, a hope, a cause,
pride, a possession, money,
a care,
or any possible concern.

In the simplicity of logic
and language:
without Life,
none of these things
exist.

“Life
is a lot more fragile than we think.
So you should treat others in a way
that leaves no regrets.”
Haruki Murakami

Without Life, none of these things exist.

There is nothing more Beautiful
than YOU.
Nothing is more delicate
than your feelings,
nothing more fragile
than your being,
nothing more precious,
or Sacred,
than Life.

Slowly,
gently,
soft as early morning Light,
Life unfurls its
Splendor.

Please know
that every word you say
to your child
each day,
is a letter
read to the Heart
out loud.
You tell the story
of your Life
with every look,
every smile,
every word.

Slowly,
gently,
softly,
unfurl the Splendor
of your Heart,
the Heart that secretly
possesses you.

The beautiful music of your Life
is meant to be
listened to
by everyone
that passes by.
And it is
intently heard
by your child.

“Love is a song that never ends.
Life may be swift and fleeting.
Hope may die.
Yet Love’s beautiful music

Comes each day
like the dawn”.

Frank Churchill

                     Unfurl the Splendor.

Go deeply within yourself.
In the quiet
of this moment,
that is possessed
of every moment in time,
and let the Dream,
that is the beauty of Life,
begin.

Your Love
is
Life.
And the Love
of God,
is YOU.

Even when
you are not there,
your child
needs to hear you say,
“I Love YOU so much”,
and to still feel
the warmth of your
embrace,
to know,
“you are
always
on my mind.”

How many times,
and in how many ways,
did you say
“I Love You”
today?

        Nothing more precious than Life.

The time
you take to do
the “little” things,
to let a child know
of the deep and abiding Love
in your Heart,
is time
you will never
regret,
as your brief Journey
nears its
end.

Goodnight.

Affirmative Prayer

If we think of God
as something apart
from that which lives and moves
and has Its being where we are,
then we are certain to believe ourselves
to be disconnected
from this Infinite Presence.
If we know God
as an Indwelling Presence,
our Prayer is naturally addressed
to this Presence
within us.
– Ernest Holmes

Nothing more precious.

“Our relationship to God
is not static, fixed.
Our relationship with God,
which we call “faith,”
is best characterized as a journey,
a movement outward in trust that God
leads us by the bonds of
Love.”

– Judi Harbin
