Dedicated
with my deep admiration
and sincere appreciation to
Richard Fletcher.
While in Boy Scout Troop 17
many years ago,
Richard gave countless hours
of patient counseling and friendship
to this very lost young man
at the time in life
when it was most needed.
He encouraged, guided and enabled me to
enter broadcasting and I become host of the
Bill Anderson Music Show at KSTB radio
and Announcer and News Director at KWKC radio,
Co-Host of the Curtis Stone Soul Show,
(I will share more on this eye opening/awakening chapter later)
and Announcer and Host of the
“On The Line” talk show simulcast over
KFMN-FM, KACC and KBLE in Abilene.
These positions in broadcasting
enabled me to work my way through College.
How well I remember
listening to Richard report on the
assassination of President John Kennedy
while tearfully sitting in the High School Library.
His compassionate reporting
inspired me enter the broadcasting profession.
And
when the precious Mother of Don and Billy Graves
asked that I become the Scoutmaster of Troop 57 in Abilene,
since no one was available,
I requested my friend Richard to serve in that capacity until
I became old enough to qualify.
Richard, with me as his Assistant, gladly did so.
Don and Billy continued their Scouting experience
along with many, many others.
And today,
I am very proud of the Rev. Donald Graves,
of the Center for Spiritual Living in Tucson,
who delivers powerful messages in dynamic ways:
“God is all there is,
so we are by nature a part of God,
filled with and surrounded by God.”

Thank You Richard!
May God always
abide with you.
Your Life
is truly
a Blessing.
Love,
my friends,
ripples through
time.
It never dies.

Our Dreams Have Wings.
There comes a precious moment
in the brevity of Life,
when Love
for all those around you
is like the breathing of your Soul.
Your whole being is somehow transformed
into Love.
And you suddenly know,
you are Love,
and your Love
is something of the
Eternal.
Love waits patiently
for you,
my Friend,
for somewhere
to go.
In one beat
of your fragile Heart,
you can
open its Sacred Door
and give Love
a home,
and no one you know
will be lonely
anymore.

Open its Sacred Door.
My Dear Friends,
let us live Life
in such a manner
as to instill Joy and Hope,
even among the afflicted
who know not Joy,
who have lost
all Hope.
Perhaps,
there lies the deeper meaning of Life.
Perhaps, there is a reason why
our brief and precious lives
need not suffer so much
anymore.

The beautiful gifts of Life
One day,
I patiently studied
the breathtaking beauty
of but a single Flower.
And, as my mind turned to reflect
upon the beautiful gifts of Life,
it became clear to me,
such beauty shows us
the way.
In your restless dreams
you can wake
with a Flower of Love in your hand,
and come to know
you are not alone.

Beauty shows us the way.
“To hear never-heard sounds,
To see never-seen colors and shapes,
To try to understand the imperceptible
power pervading the world;
That are not of matter
But of that invisible soul pervading reality.
To hear another soul and to whisper to another soul;
To be a lantern in the darkness
Or an umbrella in a stormy day;
To feel much more than know.
To be the eyes of an eagle,
slope of a mountain;
To be a wave understanding
the influence of the moon;
To be a tree
and read the memory of the leaves”
– Dejan Stojanovic

Such Warm Embrace
Within the fragile petals
of a Flower unfolding
its beautiful Gift from Above,
you can discover God’s Love
that holds you
in such Warm Embrace.
There are Promises made
in the Spring of Life,
blossoming, fragrant,
in the look
in your eyes,
in your Heart
where God Lives,
where He Loves,
where He will stay.
And His vow to you
with every beautiful Spring:
His Love
has just begun.
“Learn to see,
and then you’ll know
there is no end
to the new worlds
of our vision.”
– Carlos Castaneda

Learn to see.
If you quietly listen
with your Heart,
you can hear God whispering
in the leaves of the trees,
in the waves pounding
upon the shores
of your Soul,
in the rhythm
of the falling rain,
in the song
every bird sings:
“I wish you had known
just how much
I Love you.”
Our dreams
have wings.

See the space that surrounds.
And now,
for my students
in Philosophy,
past and future.
Let me know
what you think,
and that you are
thinking:
Look into the mirror
of this Life
to see the space
that surrounds
what is both real
and not.
The space
in which we live
is not what you think.
It is the slope of a mountain
you climb
to reach whatever
your Heart is desiring,
it is your laughter
illuminated by the sunshine
of your smiles,
it is the pillow
upon which you lay
your dreams.

The horizon of destiny.
But there is no house
in which we dwell,
only the mirror
of our mind,
a place-less place,
reflecting the warm smiles
of what was,
the faceless Face
of God
whose Loving
Heart
keeps beating
and will never part.
I’m with you
in singing skies and dancing waters
laughing children growing old
And in the heart and in the spirit
And in the truth when it is told.
– John Denver
The space you see,
which appears to form
the horizon
of destiny,
in the wink of an eye
will be turning.
The singular moment
in which we live,
in which we dwell,
is adrift
in a vast Ocean
of Love.
As we experience Life
seeping from the veins
of our awareness,
we may come to know
that we do not live
in a void,
but in the illusion of shades
of darkening and light.
Our lives are
a form of shadow
that give me visibility
to see myself,
enabling me
to see me,
there,
where I am not.
Looking back
is looking through,
a forward view
into the mist
of a new Morning.
And what is facing
you,
is looking too.
The seeming constancy of being
images Earthly reality,
a vibrant gaze
into the illusions
we see we are,
and are not.
But,
there are Sacred
places,
Elsewhere Spaces,
hidden presence,
the heartfelt homeless
deny.
“Dance me to your beauty
with a burning violin.
Dance me through the panic
’til I’m gathered safely in.
Lift me like an olive branch
and be my Homeward Dove.
Dance me to the end of love.“
– Leonard Cohen
My Dear Children,
we live
in the Hope
of Tomorrow.
We live in the Joy
we have known,
in places
of the Heart,
as we finally
come to know,
the Love of God
never passes
away,
it will never
depart.
Goodnight.

We see we are, and are not.
“How do I love thee?
Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of every day’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with a passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints,
– I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life!
– and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.
– Elizabeth Barrett Browning
